They don't need fancy trailers, they will do it the same way in Louisiana during Katrina.

Yeah, I have a line, learned a long time ago to not run around drawing it in front of folks without giving them benefit of a doubt.

Oh how far we have fallen from waging a rebellion against the largest empire on earth over a small tax on tea to wishing people would just comply with the law so we can get back to the golf course.

So, you think that thousands of guys with golf clubs and double barrels would be a bigger deterrent than the same number of men with AR’s?

Well you see, I’m no youngster.
I’m 50, not 20. I’ve been around long enough to know that when a job calls for a hammer, the best outcome will be reached with an actual hammer. One could use a rock, I suppose, but efficiency and finish will surely suffer.
I will tell you that my issue with you and others like you stems from your attitude that “what fits you best is surely best for others”. That certainly is not the case.
I am quite surprised that you, being a sage member of society, refuse to believe otherwise.
Also, upthread you stated that you “didn’t give a damn about others, as long as I can still play golf and don’t get COVID” or some such crap. It’s clear through that and other statements you’ve made that you are a person who has little to no apathy or concern for anyone but yourself.
Personally chief, I loathe self centered, uncaring, people. I’ll stop short of saying “like you” because I would like to avoid a trip to the penalty box by the mods.
Going forward, you may want to attempt to get a “better read” on the room. You’ve been a bit near sighted on a couple of points so far. Passive aggression here is like a dinner bell.

Lots of good reading about my intents and concerns. I, like so many Fudds, lived in a time where firearms were a tool for hunting and home defense. And like most of my era was introduced to these AR’s as a new military only device used for killing humans; not ever to be issued to the general population in semi-auto form. Now here we are forty or so years later hearing talk about going to war amongst ourselves over the rights to this firearm. Guess why I don’t care one bit for your needs, I lived without them and figure on finishing my time on this earth without one. Anyone that truly feels the need for one should go down to the recruiting station and tell them they wish to have themselves a AR and leave the rest of us to live alone in peace. Oh, and if you do, thank you for your service.

Because you lived your life without one everyone else should too? I don't drink. Drinking causes drunk drivers. Drunk drivers kill people. I have made it through life without alcohol. Everyone else can too. Why don't we ban alcohol for everyone? I'm sure that there are lots of other things we could ban from the populace while we are at it.

So, technology stops for YOUR comfort?

Who needs the internet. I mean, how many people lived their lives before it came about? No one NEEDS to have access to all that info to live.


In my youngest days, the internet was only for special education, and military institutions.... it was never meant to be available to anyone with a phone. Perhaps anyone who wants to get on the net needs to sign up at the recruiters, or go get a job in a lab...

Then why do you ban drunk drivers? They have the right to drink and also the right to drive a vehicle and until they cause harm are their rights not being infringed upon.
