Glock 17. World's finest hand gun!

And a MUCH lower bore axis. The P320 feels like your holding a cordless drill without the battery pack inserted. So top heavy.

Never really found any of that to be a problem. Granted, adding a light means that a) it can hold a light at a lower weight than its counterparts and b) having weight forward helps with recoil.

The bore axis is right about par with that of a Beretta 92, and on neither pistol has that been a noticeable factor.

I don't particularly like Glocks, but they are a fine, reliable, utilitarian tool. In fact, a G26 is my EDC. Despite my distaste for tactical tupperware, I shoot that little gun really well & trust it.

The G19/23 feel good in the hand & I really enjoyed shooting a bud's G34. That said, my fun $ is finite & my taste in bottom feeders run toward the 1911, Sig P220, CZ97 & the like. With my carry/utilitarian bases covered, were I to pony up for another 9mm, it'd be a CZ75 or Browning Hi Power.

'Course, it'll be a while before that happens, as there are a stainless 6" GP-100, a 6 1/2" .41Mag Blackhawk & an AR build ahead of them in the queue.

A G17 is the first handgun I actually purchased and I still have it. 19 fits me better though and I consider it to be the best Glock ever. I typically carry a G43 or sometimes a G26. I actually think I have all the 9mm glocks and multiples of some except the compensated variety. That said, I've never considered myself a fan boy, just like good tools that work.

Me to, I went through the nice collectible gun phase and as I have gotten older I like guns that are just tools. If it gets a scratch who cares. Glocks and AR pattern carbines and a few .22s are all I have after having a huge and very nice collection at one point.

Gen 2, nice! Everything you need, nothing you don't.

There is no pistol that I could depend my life on any more reliably then a Glock.
My big paws like the 17. I carry the 19 but seem to shoot the 26 the best.

But still own a 34 and 17L. :p

Please stop. Now I gotta go buy a 26.

Head shots on woodcucks at a tad over 30 yards.

sheesh. Well, I really like how my new 19 and 43 both shoot, and I think the 26 also still qualifies for the BUG class for matches, so what the heck.

I don't like or carry Glocks because they point up in the air instead of at the target when I draw and aim. I stick with the one true John Browning grip angle for all handguns. I am not the "man with one gun" but at least I am the man with one handgun grip angle and control layout ever since I started with my grandfather's High Power :)

The 26 is an ugly little gun, but they flat out shoot.

This is the reason I went from glock to the S&W M&P.

Try this experiment, pick a spot on the wall like a light switch. Close your eyes and draw the glock and point where you think the switch is. Lock in your point of aim. Where are you pointing? I was always pointing high which indicated a too severe grip angle. The M&P helped remedy my problem.

Note; If you're pointing off to either side you need practice in point shooting.

I just don't get the "Glock is ugly" perspective. I'm not a fan of cubism or Swedish Modern decor, but I find the simplicity of the Glock slide to be elegant visually and certainly operationally.

Me too. I've always likened the Glock look to a well fitted business suit..never goes out of style and always means business.
I love my 41. It's part of the ant family; Gi-ant.
But I take more natural to my 23. Me and that one get along real good.

Next polymer for me is a PPQ in 9.

So why, then, is there a Glock 19 and beyond? Even Glock thought they could do better.

For the same reason Ping makes more than a pitching wedge.
But there's no claim the Ping pitching wedge is the world's finest golf club. I was just playing along, not seriously asking.

My point still stands

I broke down and bought a 17 because of the hype. In my hands I just shoot the 19 better. Probably because I don't have huge paws. My 19 shoots circles around all my other glocks.

Love the Glock, but since molestering the P320, I don't see myself going back to it. The only factors that Glock has over the Sig (IMO), are a) slightly better grip texture (easily fixed) and b) longevity (which is to be determined with Sig - quite a few folks have hit 10k+ round counts with P320s with no/minimal issues).

I'm not a fanboi of either, but it's created alternatives to the "if it's not Glock it's crap" response.
Ha ha ha ha, molestering....

Because they have shot other guns?

Bawahahhahahha,,,,,,,,,Glocks make a fine sidearm. I have not owned one. I have a 19 and had another that I sold. Oddly enough of all the 9mm pistols Ive have owned the only one I keep since the day I bought is a Ruger P85. This list includes what suppose to be some of the finest firearms made,, Sig 229 scorpion, VP9,etc
Yes. They do indeed make potted meat... and I hate them for it. *points to signature*

If a gun is hard to conceal, I personally have limited application for it. And while I'm a pretty good sized feller, and I see the "beauty" of the G17 (that's a figure of speech, because they're all ugly as sin) I carry a G19 and a G43.

I am not what one might call a Glock "fanboy", and in fact had sold the Glock 45s I had, and didn't own any Glocks for several years. I just recently bought these two, and I really like how the 19 and the 43 carry, and shoot. Might get a G26, too.
I have a 19, 26 and 43 and they all have their own uses and applications. I would not be opposed to purchasing a 17 but, the 17 mags work in my 19 so I really don't have a need for a 17, but if I did not have a 19 then I likely would have a 17.

I've owned alot of handguns. Ruger's, Smith's, Kimber's, rock island, Taurus, Rossi u name it. Love a 1911.

But.... I shoot a stock Glock 17( save for a green fiber front sight).... Lol it just works. Eats whatever I give it. It ain't pretty but I love it! ;)

Then again I'm a strange guy.....

Pretty much can't go wrong with a Glock in any flavor(except 45 GAP wtf were you thinking Gaston?)

I have a G42 and G19 and like them both very much. Would love to have a 17, 17L, and a 34. But that is unlikely, as there are a plethora of other guns on the list in front of them.

For carrying and potential SHTF, and some matches here and there I love the Glocks. But for most fun shooting and matches (99% of what I do) I use my CZ75. My CZ love is far greather than my Glock love. Glock thing is more like respect than love. That's what I would grab if my life was a factor tho.

Kinda like having a Civic and a Ferrari in the driveway. If my life depended on getting somewhere I'd take the Civic for sure. But mostly I would want to drive the Ferrari. The reliability of the Civic certainly doesn't make it a better car. They both have their merits. But one is a lot easier to fall in love with!

Mr Powell, I think a lot of ya and your not far of the mark, but 10mm is the way to go. :)

I don't have the pleasure of owning a 10mm. Coming from you, I have no doubts that it's "the way to go".

But, I don't think the 10mm would be a comparable range gun. Have you fired 100, or more, 10mm rounds at a range session? The G17 is no problem. With the proper ammunition, it is also great for personal defense. And, the G17 excels as a bedside gun.

When I want lots of blast and recoil, I do have a 45 Colt clone, revolver. I'm not about to touch it off a 100, or more, times, in a session though. I'm now thinking I might would enjoy a 10mm? Hmm!
