Hall of Shame Section

Man, the natives are restless. I think it would open a smelly can of worms to post all that.

Most folks that get the heave ho just push and push, brick by brick. They don’t rock along playing nice with others, and all of a sudden go full retard. Although it has happened recently. I expect after the mods hafta argue with each other for the eleventieth time about someone's boorish behavior they get fed up, and the next misdemeanor finally gets the boor tossed out.

Meh…if it was at all open as a discussion forum it would devolve nearly immediately into a massive dumpster fire of haters and lovers throwing shade everywhere.

I do think it would be nice to have a sticky somewhere with a list of banned folks and their offense. Mainly because sometimes people get the heave-Ho and it’s a complete mystery which just leads to more discussion and drama. A simple:

B00ger
Offense: annoying obnoxious git
Mitigation attempts: multiple mod warnings due to Troll posts, illogical ranting, and general douchebaggery
Ban date: 1/12/22
Eligible for return: no

Yeah I’ve noticed a few banned members try and join back. But it’s so obvious and their IP address would give them away.

If I ever get the ban hammer expect me to come back as definitelynotalex

This is it. This is the logical statement IMO. This works. I could see a quick "who, what and why" public post by mods to cut back on user questions, but any sort of public comment capacity would quickly devolve into absolute cringe.

I like this idea. Locked thread with names we no longer speak. Make it really spicy and open the thread on Friday at Beer:30, lock it back at midnight and add new names accordingly. 😁

It’s $20 a year to keep the lights on here. This is not a commercial enterprise.

You don’t have to pony up, plenty don’t, but for those who do, there are a few perks with the deal.

I’m kidding Lol, I was thinking about becoming a supporting member because this forum has done alot for me and I’ve met some of my closest friends here, how would I go about doing that?

I think a Charter Members/Life Members only sticky of banned members and their offense would be good.
No comments allowed....just their offense and username

If you don't pay...you can't play....so to speak...as far as the banned member knowledge!

Years ago, my neighbor had the Wall of Shame in his garage where we would all hang out. It contained newspaper clippings of all the misdeeds perpetrated by all of us.

There are several ways you save that $20 over and over again. On tacshift optics supporting & life members get different prices on optics and purchases as a thank you for supporting this forum. (which is typically over $20 in savings)

There have been times that I have really wanted to post the reason why we banned someone. But we don’t.

There are several reasons for this. First and foremost is a strict policy among the staff of what happens in the mod section stays there.

It is the only way we can freely and openly discuss issues.

The second reason is that a thread of that nature would absolutely devolve. As has been said. You’re kidding yourself if you think differently. We would have to spend time defending our decision to everyone if they didn’t agree. Which would mean posting things that only the staff should see out front.

Then there is the fact that enforcement can be subjective to a degree. Not on certain things but we weigh a members forum contribution and their nature in the equation. So basically you do something and are apologetic and fix it or you do the same thing and tell me to kiss your ass the reaction will be different.

Kinda like you welsh on a deal because you got in a car accident or you got more money somewhere else. Same offense by the letter of the law.

But the main reason we don’t discuss why people are banned is because we do not want to be like the media and give them the spotlight for their poor behavior or their rule violations. Let them be gone and stay gone.

Looks like they are mostly new guys screwing folks in ads . If they just had a one year membership or 1000 posts before they can place an ad or even buy stuff they wouldnt suck so bad or get banned as fast!

Hell it took me years and a PowerPoint presentation to find the withdrawn button. Some folks are cheese, they need time to age before they can play right!
