I noticed that not too many folks post much about the Single Action's

Maybe not specifically what the OP was talkin' about... but it is single action!

Finally took my 'Rona Toy Pietta Remington 1858 to the range Thursday.Pietta Rem 1858 & Accessories.jpg

RB over 15grs Goex FFFg for the inaugural cylinder; 20grs of same after that. (Never opened the Reenactor.) RWS 1075 caps, shoot-n-see 6" targets set at 10 yards.

Seems to work!

BP is fine,, and welcomed!
Well then, here is my little .36.

It sat, in the white all rusty without stocks, on my grandfathers bar for as long as I can remember. When I was 13 or so, I asked him if I could put stocks on it, clean it up, and finish it.

I try to take it out once a year.

Sure works for me

Snal,, yes,, I go by "contender on the Ruger Forum, and on the SA Forum. Good to see you again!

Hammer12lb,, did John or Otter make that rig? Nice!

Ok,, I have to admit,, that I'm a sucker for OM Ruger Single-Action handguns. But even worse,, I LOVE the OM Ruger Hawkeye pistol made by Ruger in 1963. In 256 Win caliber,, and it's a single-shot on a SA revolver frame. I'll see about posting a picture,,,!

And here it is;

Well waddaya know about that. All this time I thought that @JT just fell outta the chair. Now I know the rest of the story. LOL

Great looking pistol and well worth the wait.

Did you have any action work done to it?

Me? Thank you. Nah. Action & trigger were very nice out of the box & I just didn't feel the need. Not as slick as my Clements gun, but very little is.

Main goal was fitting the grip frame & hammer, with the accuracy tune & sight blade to make sure I wasn't leaving anything on the table.

The engraving's just icing. I'd been admiring their engraving for a hot minute & when he told me how reasonable their 1/4 coverage package was, I couldn't say no.

All three are 41 magnum
I just noticed those were Flat Tops. Nice, not very many of those in circulation.

Nice trio there.

But I'm a little confused by the pic of the 2 Ruger's. You said they are Flattops,, yet I see a protrusion at the rear sight. Call me confused.

I truly enjoy Single Action six shooters. Especially Rugers. Yet,, not too much of the posting around here seems to be about them. Now,, I'm a newbie,, and haven't gone deep into the older posts. But hey,, what about the folks like me who enjoy these fine older designed handguns? Anybody else out there? (I do know a member,, cubrock who also enjoys them. He's excluded!)
I like em too. Here’s some of mine.

Glad to know cap and ball is welcome here
Need to get up some pics of mine in here.

I think the old single action revolvers are cool aesthetically and historically. Obviously if you do CAS they're a necessity. For me though I just prefer the way a more modern pistol feels in-hand. I find the grip shape preferable on modern semiautos and double-action revolvers. So it's more an issue of what works best for me, not just because I don't find SA revolvers interesting. They most definitely are.

That said! Since I discovered you can absolutely sonic clean the steel components of black powder revolvers, and cleaning is the primary reason I haven't gotten into black powder yet, once I get a sonic cleaner, I may get a cool reproduction black powder revolver just for the fun of it.

Check out a cowboy action shooting match and put some lead on steel!

Lots of good clubs in the Carolinas; some are not on the SASS website because they are not currently SASS-affiliated. Just about every NC and SC club is listed on www.carolinacowboys.us

I am the match director of the Greenville Gunfighters; always happy to welcome new folks. www.greenvillegunfighters.com

Haven't been to the Greenville one. Little over 4 hours away for me. Trying to stay near the Coast till work is done.

Nice batch of Rugers there biganimal!

And that Randall is a NICE addition to that old Super!

But the .45's are sweet & I'm partial to those. Ya need to find an Old Model in .45 Colt. :D

Both .45 Colt, both Bisleys. Bottom gun is 45Colt/ACP. Fermin Garza front sights.
Top gun has a 6.5 inch Ruger SBH 454 barrel (take off). I’m hooked them.
There aren’t many loads I’ve tried that I don’t like. 300 grain GCFN bullets from a Lee mold @1K fps are my standard recipe for about everything.

Is your gun back from Nutmeg yet?????
Should ship Monday.
She had printer issues and I had a bunch of things going on this past week.
So I asked for shipping to be put off until Monday.

Those 30 Carbine Blackhawks are a hoot. They are very loud with regular 30 Carbine ammo and are somewhat sensitive to case length. I have been using a good bit of 32/20 brass in mine loaded with lead 308 bullets. I am giving one of my M1 Carbines to my nephew and will probably throw in the Blackhawk since he just built a new home where he can shoot.
I bought some .32-20 brass to use, but my carbine die won't size it down enough to hold .30 cal bullets! Not sure how to proceed. Fortunately, I do have a good supply of 30 carbine brass. Loaded to .32-20 Rifle spec. they make a good load.
