Take a look at this pic. There are some serious clues in it telling me that Springfield Armory is bringing the Browning Hi Power back to the US market. This was in the Nov 2021 issue of Guns and Ammo.

Where did you find this picture?

1935 next to a picture of JMB, what else could it mean….? Cool.

If you look closely there might be a BHP on the right of the bench. I am interested what they are going to do with it. I hope they offer a classic version and a enhanced version. The one thing I don't want to see is a rail.

Could be…

Methinks you’re more familiar with how they look than I am.

I don't think they will do a polymer version because it would deviate too far from the original and turnoff a lot of the old school market. They could do an alloy version. I think it would be cool if they had a "Milspec" and then a "Loaded" versions like they do with the 1911.

Soooo...guessing they will just import some clones with a new name?
Arcus in Bulgaria makes it.
Girsan in Turkey.
Ishapore makes it.
FM in Chile makes it.
I think there's a Philipino. Armscor? Rock Island?

Just saying, I don't see Springfield as a 'maker' of guns, per se. Hope they put some TLC into cleaning those up, because I know they will jack up the prices on them for putting their rollmark on it.

Good point. Are any of those being imported at the moment?

Btw- FM=Argentina

When I saw that ad a week or so ago I thought they were talking about that wood stocked rifle??? P35....Tisas for me.

They made 5 of them on FEG parts once.

Tisas is still making them and Girsan is coming out with their own clone sometime this year.

Is there some secret pent up nostalgia demand for hi-powers?

NIB MKIII examples are selling for $1300+ on GB. The Tisas BHP clone sold out and have about doubled in price in the secondary market. FOMO is real which is stupid because they made millions of them.

I think if I was a collector I'd try and get one of the millions of legit Hi Powers even if I had to pay a bit more. It is hard to argue against the Tisa situation though.

I am a shooter not a collector but I only own one BHP clone which is the Detective shown above and it is only half a clone because the frame is FN.

Yawn. Old or custom High Powers I get. New knock offs? Who cares? What makes those better than any other large 9 mm? I must be missing something here.

I sold a nice Belgian, fixed sight P35 yesterday that should please anybody that wanted such a thing for $1,000. I am working down to 3 from 8. I'll always have the 3 I'm keeping...they feel right in my girlish little hands.

It would be nice to have a quality base gun which did not cost you $1000. Also for many people they point better than any other 9mm. Also if you move the serial number you could checker the grip straps. I would only buy one to use it for a custom build but in the end I have enough BHPs and there are really only 2 builds I still want to do. A Yost with checkering and a Williams on a birth year gun. I own the base guns for both those future builds already. I think at the right price point people will buy them.

Explain to a Highpower ignoramus why it would be better than a CZ. Cause you know I have a bias. 😆

OK ...I'm High Jacking for a sec....anybody have any 'spearence with the Cylinder and Slide P35 trigger replacement parts?? I have a beautiful refinished Lightweight that I have Novak sights on. It has THE worst trigger I have ever had on a P35. The trigger is as awful as the gun is beautiful.

I am afraid if I kept up with what you were selling I might start making too many trips to Conway (any 4 hour trip is too much for me these days). Luckily I wasn't in the market for a nice Legit Hi Power! :)

Make a list of what you want...we'll get it ALL together and you can make ONE trip.

I have a BHP made from the factory with the Syl&Slide Safety Fast System... it's very good, I like it a lot!

Girsan prototypes have already been test fired in the US at the distributor level. They hope to have them in country en masse in the next few months.

Would be interesting if Springfield is piggybacking on their effort.

I’m gonna own one of each. Wish I hadn’t sold my TISAS. They have become very hard to find.

If you have smaller hands they often fit better than the CZ75B. I install CGW short triggers on my CZ75s. They are just natural pointers for a lot of shooters. It is not an objective thing it is highly subjective but of all the guns I own I point and shoot the BHP the best. It is like Saive made it to fit my hands. YMMV

C&S hammer, sear and spring kits are very good. They are the best "drop in" parts on the market IMHO. They drop in or require very little fitting. If you can detail strip the gun you can install them. Sometime they require a bit of "dressing" of the parts but nothing too drastic. Their thumb safeties require some fitting. I like their duty hammer sets. https://cylinder-slide.com/Category/BHPhs

This is the one I have used the most often. 26lb main spring with a 18.5 lb recoil spring. https://cylinder-slide.com/Item/CS0284

If you yank the mag disconnect also pick up a 3 coil trigger return spring. It will make the reset more positive. https://cylinder-slide.com/Item/CS15070

Girsans are listed at MSRP of $529 for what looks like a MKIII with a ring hammer. To me it looks like a all blue Practical. https://eaacorp.com/product/girsan-mc-p35/

I never could get to love my CZ75D but I have always loved BHPs. Have two HPs now, a Browning and Argentine. Both great shooters.
