It looks real nice for $600. I'll probably pick one up when they are available to feel out at a LGS.
If the past couple of years have taught me anything, it's that all of these will be snatched up immediately and resold at scalper's prices.

Im hoping we will get one in at work at somepoint. Sometimes the distributor tries to sell us "new" stuff and we get lucky... I think Id like one of these. Of course Id need to add an ambi safety...
I’ll be picking one up at some point. Looks like they did a really nice job w it. Price is at a point where alot of people will be able to get one.

The word on the street is that from the distributor these are around $530 to the dealer. I am sure some get better pricing than others based on volume and if they can buy direct. That means at $699 there is a lot of room in this gun. I personally hope that tons of people buy these and the FN BHP market gets back down to realistic numbers. I miss the days of buying perfect base guns for $500-$700. Like this one which I paid $540 OTD for. This was the base gun I sent to Ted Yost. The final product is posted earlier in the thread.

Also they are already listed on a lot of the drop shippers website ranging for $561-$699. No one has one in stock but that tells you where they are going to price out once the dust settles.

No i mean Belgium. He had the greatest designs but he let everyone else build them. He got pimped out of his own trademark which is why the bhp triggers suck.

Interesting gun. They addressed things that have kept me passing on BHP (mag disco, safety, capacity, etc). Might snag one of these at some point.
Love BHP, they just don't do anything my CZ's don't do.
None the less, they have that special feel to them. Hard to describe, but easy to understand if you stick one in yer hand. They are super pointy.

Hear are Jason Burtons thoughts on the sample he received. I talked to Ted Yost yesterday about them. He has not seen one on person. He is pretty much a FN only guy. We both agreed it will be good for the market to have more options.

The problem is that there are really no good ambi safeties out there for the BHP. The C&S part is grabage. The best one available is the FN part from the MKIII. The Best ones are bespoke levers made by people like Don Williams and Ted Yost who build an ambi lever on the FN OEM part. Do not buy the C&S part. Trust me on this.

They are but the ambi safety is just not good. If you are a high thumbs shooter and use the lever as a rest, the C&S passenger side lever is a torture device. I supposed it would be good for the thumbs low shooter, because the paddle would be way out of the way and thus less likely to be bumped upwards during recoil.
The problem is this: When C&S added the lefty lever, they somehow situated it asymmetrically, so that it now sits much higher and further aft on the frame that the driver's side lever. The result is that to shoot with your thumb resting on the lefty lever, you need move your thumb straight up and rotate the joint 90 degrees forward in order to rest the pad of your thumb on the lever.

I actually dont rest my thumb on the safety on 1911's so perhaps it would be fine for me. I suppose Id have to get a pistol in hand and get a good look at where it interact with my left hand thumb.

I got the email about having them in stock at 3. It’s 8 and there out of stock. Even at $1000. My wife told me to get it . She is paying for it for Christmas. I told her give it 6 months and the price will settle down. She simply said it’s not your money being spent . I really like her. Lol. WarDawg.

These are pics from Jason Burton AKA Heirloom Precision's Facebook page. Some of the best pics out there right now showing the details on the pistol. The gun had a 5lb 6 oz trigger out of the box. Burton did a quick trigger job with factory components and got it to 4lbs. As I posted above he said that the parts look to be tooled steel and do not show tell tell MIM or casting lines or marks. The front sight looks to be beveled to the slide which is a nice touch on a production pistol. This is outstanding news IMHO.
This is the most interesting pic for me. It has some tells about how SA redid the pistol. It looks like the press in barrel cam is still present. You can see its faint outline. The frame is also drilled for a lanyard loop. To me this is a tell that this frame is being made by someone else for SA who is also making frames for another builder because there is no reason for that lanyard loop to be present on a gun designed primarily for the US commercial market. If anyone has a Tisas it would be interesting to know if it has a lanyard ring drilled into the frame. Once the EAA Grisans hit the store it will be interesting to check them as well.

Here is a good look at the rear sight. Looks like a Heine Pro Slant knock off.
The thumb safety looks to me to be very similar to a 1911 lever. Looks good for those who like to ride the thumb safety. You can see a nice detent which should give it a better click. I hope that they specd the frame to have less material in that area to better capture that ball on the safety giving it a more 1911 feel. In the past the only way to achieve that was to do it yourself or have a smith do it and install a stronger spring and a new part like a C&S. Seeing this on a stock gun is nice.
Here is the beveled magwell. Note the fit of the grips. The gap is very typical of BHP grip fit. The grips look a bit thick to my eyes. Thicker than Spegels. Certainly thicker than Navidrex slim Micarta.

Both the FEG and India versions of the HP have a lanyard ring. Perhaps they are the source for the unfinished forgings that are completed at SA Inc? I believe the most recent Argentine HP deleted the lanyard ring.

There is a lot of speculation that this is what they are doing. The presence of the lanyard ring hole might be a tell to the actual source of the raw forgings which are then being refined and CNC'd in the US so they can call it a US made pistol.
