Just what are the rules of this forum?

Reading this thread because I have a couple funs to sell. In over my head - I don't even know what those names are supposed to mean?
They are just sarcastic examples of people the poster wouldn’t want to sell to.

"I'll take it" is the equivalent of raising your paddle at an auction. Nothing is final until that hammer falls.
That’s not right at all. please go take a look at the actual rules that are sticky in every section of the classifieds

Damn...necrothread woke up 🤦‍♀️
I linked it in another thread to provide an explanation. Rather restart this one than somebody create a new one. 🤪

I think he was saying is that an “I’ll take it” is like raising your paddle at an auction. You are signaling your interest in the item but that doesn’t mean you are going to get it. At least, that is how I read it

“I’ll take it” is pretty clear. Not the same as “I’m interested “.
Yes, it’s perfectly clear. But what’s also clear is that I choose who gets it. ;)

Still doesn’t mean you get the item. As outlined numerous times, you still have to agree to price, day, time, etc.

Tempest in a teapot. I did a deal today with a member who is so new that his avatar is still wet. From opening to closing the deal took less than four hours with nary a hiccup.

In my just under over three years here, all of my deals have gone smoothly, from smallest to largest. And I assure you that it's not because of me. :)
I said it before and I'll say it again, edited. Still true.

Yeah I usually take “I’ll take it” as the point where all that negotiation happens. If parties can’t agree on terms then the deal is dead.

It all seems pretty straight forward 🤷‍♂️

I don’t understand why this is still being argued, read the stickies and follow the rules, it’s that simple yet people just don’t seem to care
Maybe I should start a new movement, I’ll call it #suspendtheBST until people stop being stupid lol 😂

I can see stuff coming up, stuff going wrong, relatives showing up. wife says, XYZ, I just know that, if I personally, had made a deal would I would find a way to fulfill it or certainly offer some degree of compensation, if only to secure a future deal. Most people are going to be reasonable, “stuff” happens… I was o but way home on a Friday night and an infighter cable failed on m car .. kt required a tow tow truck to the shop. Stuff happens… but communication and Ho or are the key. I. Such an instance, I may have had to reschedul, but I would have kept my word.

I’m a firm believer that if you can’t text/type full words you’re lying or trying to scam
This is an example of someone trying to scam me, if you don’t type full words like a normal human you’re a scammer to me, who talks like this? Idiots

I think that communication is key.

Whether that takes place in the thread, by PM, or both is a matter of how it all starts.

If the buyer and seller communicate all the requirements (time, place, time, terms) in any combination of communication means, then the deal is made.

What I believe should happen then is that the OP should update his thread in a timely manner so that others will know the status.

Heck, the seller may end up selling the item completely outside of CFF...but he should still promptly update his thread accordingly.

Yes, this means sometimes you may run across an interesting item in a thread and during that time someone else has communicated a deal by PM. Dem's the breaks, annoying as it may be.

I don't see where there is any need to change or otherwise particularly formalize this process beyond what it already is.
