Kyle Rittenhouse 17 year Old Shoots 3 kills 2....

Can the president pardon for state crimes or only federal crimes?

From C-SPAN:
"OCTOBER 28, 2020

Social Media Content Moderation

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey testified on social media content moderation before the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee. Republicans on the committee largely accused the social media companies of censoring conservative viewpoints, while Democrats urged the tech CEOs to do more to stop the spread of misinformation and content that could incite violence. Many committee members focused on Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which shields social media companies from liability for content posted on their sites and affords them wide latitude in content moderation."

The full video of the 'hearing' -- Go to 2:43:42 for the relevant section to this thread......and watch the (un)distinguished senator from Wisconsin throw Rittenhouse fully under the bus without due process.

🤬

After watching many videos on YouTube of militia groups showing up at these protests the majority look and act like total idiots. I do support the red white and blue and totally support the second amendment. I see so many loose screws in these videos it's amazing we have any rights left at this point.
The young man apparently was on his own without any leadership at least that can be seen. If he was on a team as they should have been where did they go?
I saw a video of the "militia" before the shooting walking around wearing plate carriers ballistic helmets and gear. Where were these seasoned warriors when the fat fell in the fire? If you want to dress up and strut around keep it at home. Oh well E nuff said. God help us all.

Did you read the thread?

Democrats urged the tech CEOs to do more to stop the spread of misinformation and content that could incite violence

Pretty sure that urging was tongue in cheek. These social media companies that donated to presidential campaign funds did so at a 90+% rate overwhelmingly to the Dems, all while claiming to be impartial and unbiased.

Man charged with illegally buying gun for Kyle Rittenhouse

KENOSHA, Wis. —
A 19-year-old man has been charged with illegally buying a gun used to kill two protesters in Kenosha.

Dominick Black, of Kenosha, was charged with two counts of intentionally giving a dangerous weapon to a person under the age of 18, causing death.

According to a criminal complaint, Black bought a Smith & Wesson M&P 15 rifle on May 1 at Ladysmith Ace Home Center in Ladysmith, Wisconsin.

Ladysmith is more than 300 miles from Kenosha.

Prosecutors said Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, of Antioch, Illinois, gave Black the money used to buy the gun.

The complaint said Black knew Rittenhouse was not legally able to buy the gun because he was not 18 years old.

Black and Rittenhouse agreed to keep the gun at Black's stepfather's house in Kenosha, the complaint said.

Prosecutors said Black volunteered to go out armed after curfew in Kenosha to protect the Car Source business on Sheridan Road.

Black asked Rittenhouse to join him, the complaint said, and the two went to Black's stepfather's house to get the gun.

Black told police he was concerned about Rittenhouse having the gun because Rittenhouse wasn't 18, but if he told Rittenhouse he couldn't have it, Rittenhouse "would have thrown a fit."

Prosecutors said Rittenhouse used the gun to shoot and kill Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, who were unarmed.

who were unarmed.

Uhm, WTF? Talk about gaslighting and retconning a well known event. That takes some nerve to just act like the third guy wasn't carrying that pistol he could not let go of after having his bicep blow off. Or that the second guy didn't use the skateboard to beat KR over the head making it a weapon. These idiots are just shameless at this point.

Please dont let facts get in the way.

Just a word of advice here... you would do better to cruise the threads here before posting in to them. Most of what you are saying is nonsense, frankly. The biggest idiocy is the assertion that these people were, or even asserted themselves to be "militia." That argument only surfaced in the legal justification for him having a rifle.
Do whatever you wish and you may find that this forum has a wide divergence of opinion. You will find that -in these threads on Kyle... there were a few- there was initially the typical robe tearing and wailing about how this wild and uncontrolled murder by a lunatic on "our side" was bound to happen eventually. This silliness is there on the threads and is very typical of the contingent who are kind of "ready fire aim" responses here. Again, we allow for it (we have great mods here). This latitude allows for a whole bunch of uninformed blather on issues, and some guys take advantage of that latitude. Don't be that guy :) .

Straw buyer for a Chicago gang? Don’t worry, you’re all good!

I believe Chicago has been Dirty for too many decades and that there have been and are established organized crime interwoven at all levels of Chicago / Illinois Government.
I believe it runs Very deep to include (serious) international players as well.

The product? Simple, the usual, "Sex, DRUGS, & Rock & Roll."

The solution?
Short of lighting off a Neutron device,,,

Don't live there and if you do, Move.

America has let this poor kid down.
No we have not. Short of storming the jail, there is not much we CAN do. Money has been pouring in for his legal defense, and Lin Woods is providing (for free) one of the best lawyer representations you can get.
I don't think Trump will be replaced, as I don't have my head stuck up the rectal cavity of the media, but if he IS replaced, we can, as Americans, urge a pardon. Just because we don't riot en masse and overturn wicked men in power at each violation of law, this does NOT constitute abandonment of someone like Kyle.

If otoh, you are saying that our justice system has unjustly attacked this kid due to corruption, I can only respond that Kyle has to get in line behind the American public. Our justice system has very little to do with justice as a whole across the nation.

He needs to pardon Snowden too.
for domestic things, that's a fair argument
but isn't he wanted internationally for a number of other things? even if he came home, wouldn't we have to give him up under our extradition agreements?

Didn't he just surrender the proceeds of his book or something like that? I thought that was a precursor to him coming home or something.

I prefer to avoid conflict. Kyle went to the hornets nest and kicked it so to speak. I believe he was in self defense. However I would not have put myself in that situation.

that being said, I hope trump pardons him.

I think he was fairly aware of the situation going in. He also had a med kit and was interviewed saying he was there to help. He was also asked to help a business that had previously been vandalized. His choice. He chose to do something instead of watching. Maybe not the choice I would have made, but I wasn't there.

I don't think he's been charged with a federal crime. I'm not sure pardons affect state-level crimes.

I have a dear Ole Pard who did 35 years on HCPD and was Well thought of in the community. Sitting in the Gun Room one Sunday he said his entire career could be summed up by his daily directive to himself when he got in the car....Today, I will despence Justice with the Law. He is a fine example of what a LE can be.

Intentions only matter for so much, though. When people try to "do something" that they are entirely unqualified to do, they often end up making things worse. I'm not sure why anyone would think it was a good idea for a 17 year old with no tactical or medical training to go into a highly dangerous situation entirely unnecessarily in order to play TACMEDIC. The kid may have wanted to help, but anyone with any judgment should have been able to predict that there was a high likelihood of things ending badly. He almost died, he ended up killing several people, and now he could potentially spend the rest of his life in prison. For what? A used car dealership that was already badly damaged and was owned by someone he didn't even know? Discretion is always the better part of valor.

All that said, it appears to me that the kid actually handled himself pretty well once the SHTF, and it's pretty clear to me that he only ever used force in self-defense. Hopefully he end up acquitted.

Yes, but for the sake of argument....

He's 17....most kids have no judgment. I hope it all works out ok for him, but now he has to live with the fact that he killed people. I feel bad for him.
