Moore county, attack on power grid.

solid state inertial sensors for dead reckoning until gps data can be received to confirm?
The hooks are there to incapacitate the car if the telemetry is missing for some period.
Also, the GPS antenna is not necessarily integrated with the cell antenna anymore.

Ok, so... dish the dirt. What does work?
Sorry; NDAs here.

Here is what I can recommend:
iu

With only a smattering of high tech savvy, as well as not being a tech hacker.

Cell OFF and wrapped in foil and in a Faraday cage would work well. Or at least I think so.
OR….give someone your cell or hide it in their car or person and you have a semblance of an alibi.
Use a burner phone….one you buy from a guy that would take a bullet and not rat on you.

As to the technology. This seems to be growing in scale. It would take a massive NCIS scheme, but if you ran the ESN’s of each event……and checked them against each other….then ran the call and text logs for a cross match or activity, then you could narrow this down. Don‘t know much beyond that.

Having hunted for years in Moore County, I would suspect that if it were a “good old boy with a gun rack in the ca….they (proper pronoun) might just have a CB as that is the main way to find chase dog. Some coded jargon would be easy and there is not logging in or pinging.

IF this was a positive TARGET, as in someone on the fringe and being part of a nationwide movement, then this is NOT what legitimate firearms owners need. If it was a false flag to try to frame a group or a “section“ of the population, then that needs double the effort.

As long as the searches are targeted and authorized by the existing laws….and there are checks and balances to make sure that “electronic evidence” is legitimate, then I don’t see any downside,

NOW…that is in no way an endorsement of some of the tactics in use today for classifying purchases or the state ones like in Oregon.

I almost posted earlier "They probably have it rigged to put the car in limp mode if you disconnect the telemetry." Looks like I was right. Or close, whatever.

Well the problem with that is for us anti social folks trust is an issue. You show up to my cabin wearing Crocs and the deal‘s off. Even if you check all the other boxes. We all have our issues.

Hold on just a sec…. I love my crocs. @Get Off My Lawn even busted my chops when he saw them last week, but they’re awesome for taking dogs out or when you know mud boots are coming on at your destination.

😜😎

I would think, if they were smart enough to pull this off with such precision, they'd be smart enough to not carry their personal cell. I would think...

Now, the people just doing a drive by that are copycats, sure.

Not legal huh? That matters how???

Not sure I said that matters. Particularly in regards to people held without bail for trespassing charges based on geo fencing.

It "might" matter when it makes its way to SCOTUS. The 4th amendment does not prohibit general warrants by name but it lays out the requirements of a warrant that precludes using general warrants. SCOTUS has always been the backstop for an over reaching executive branch. And it's never stopped the over reaching until after the fact.

This sounds like a great opportunity for a company to provide reman vehicle managers with an inop cell antenna.

I wasn't kidding when I used to say that I wanted to start up an engineering company to design anti-law enforcement technology. In other words, technical solutions to thwart the enforcers.

The government will just make your products illegal. Radar detectors, rf jamming devices, signs warning about speed traps are examples of this.
Like there is no market for things the stupid booger eaters in govt have declared "illegal".

Just give your cell phone to a trusted friend and have him go to the bar. Your phone will ping there, therefore you are there. Most everyone is drinking and will think they saw you there.

Rhetorical questions.

Did you mean to say that out loud?

Meh, I don't exactly hide the fact that I am not a supporter of what has developed into law enforcement. Them having a technical advantage is not necessarily in the interests of The People. Many on the right wing still, for whatever odd reason, see govt. enforcement as the "good" guys, but the number of examples proving this to be false is growing. This geo-fence warrant nonsense and the one-sided application of it being an example, or more concerning using it on the Jan 6th protestors. So, someone develops and sells a solution to thwart it. There are other examples: radar speed guns -> radar detectors and jammers, license plate readers -> filters that prevent them, video surveillance and identity recognition -> disguise techniques, etc.

Good information guys. Note to self. Go to restaurant. Order, put food in trash. Leave phone in bush, do the deed, come back retrieve phone and pay bill. Cause a scene singing Purple Rain. Alibi solid.
Was there a camera recording any of this? Not that I'd ever think about something like that.

I have Verizon. Half the time I can't get a signal. Can they trace you if your phone is retarded?
Yes. They did a test several years ago where they turned off the tracking on one phone, and they also turned another phone off completely. They both continued recording locations anyways, and the phone that was turned off actually pinged more and had more accurate tracking.

The Jan6 persecution is using this same warrant. Some of those phones were off and or had location turned off and they still pinged and prosecuted.

Remember about 10-15 years ago the guy on a business trip from Raleigh to Hillsville VA? Went back home in the middle of the night, killed the wife, drove back to Hillsville in time for a morning meeting. Made a few mistakes so he’s in prison now.

I’ve sometimes thought about how it would be impossible today. Tracking his phone. Car’s nav system. Amount of gas in the tank since the last fill-up, documented by credit card purchase. Doorbell cameras recording you driving through the neighborhood. Cameras everywhere in the hotel and electronic hotel key recording when you left and returned. You are never alone anymore.

I call bullshit. Phones that are off are off.
You know why you can't take the battery out of most Cellphones now? The FCC made it easier to get a phone approved with a big points bonus for permanent batteries wired into the phone.

Turning your phone off just means the display is off and the inputs don't respond to you. It's never off off and the mic and cameras and GPS work just fine until the battery goes dead.

Seems to me that the doctrine of reasonable expectation of privacy would kick in here somewhere.
until the battery goes dead.
you read my mind. The phone tracker may play dead for a while, but eventually that battery is going to run out.

Anyone that would wear Crocs would tongue kiss their Mama. 😆

Well, duh. I don’t care if some appointed idiot wearing a black dress declares it valid, The People inherently realize this mass surveillance is WRONG and they don’t like it. Of course they’re going to respond by taking privacy measures.

Harden A LOT of infrastructure, and stock up on billions of $$$ in spares and replacement parts. Hire security for all major power locations.

It would be a huge undertaking, and would be about as expensive as propping up Ukraine. :D
Can you imagine what your electric bill would be? 😳

Mine are mostly old and gnarly. Any recommendations?
You don't need to eat it, just make it appear that's what is happening. Let em see you sauce a forearm like a turkey leg at the Renaissance fair.
