New Palmetto State Armory Location in Denver NC

Do they sell reloading components? Powder, primers, etc.

Went by today since I got rained out of work.

Parking lot was packed, lots of grown men that can't park their trucks.

Inside was a bit chaotic, still moving in, setting up, figuring things out, etc. Plenty of long guns, decent sidearm selection, and respectable optics presence. Had plenty of 22LR and WMR, 9mm (34 bucks for 50) and 5.56. I'm not game for any of those prices, but it is nice to have a place within 20 minutes to go pick up parts and accessories that isn't priced like Shitter's Express. Had a little fishing section set up, soft goods, but the bulk of the store is AR components. I picked up a few odds and ends, staff was very courteous, enthusiastic and young. Customers were the typical irritating and argumentative yankee-transplant Denver douchebags. I felt bad for several employees having to put up with them.

Easily the best thing for firearms parts/components in Lincoln Co since Dewey closed On Target.

I stopped by a few minutes ago, was never in there when it was Denver Defense, nice mid-sized retail location. They had PLENTY of long guns on the wall and a good number of handguns in their case, all at slightly higher than what I’d consider “good” prices.
Plenty of ammo as well, but those prices were mostly laughable but better than I’ve seen at some places. That’s just ammo today.

Just 1 person that I could see on the range and 2 guys at the range counter.

One thing to note about the range is they had a sign on the Tula Ammo saying “cannot be used in our range”. So either no steel case or no bi-metal jackets, not sure, didn’t ask.

I was told both

They were jammin when I visited.

I watched a video on their, I guess main website, and the basics for their ranges are brass cased ammo only. you can sweep and keep the spent cases. Shotguns have to use slugs and have a buttstock. No hip shooting. Otherwise basic safety rules. They also require weapons be cased until on the range, and if you are carrying, don't take it out until ready to use. No drawing. If you have a rifle without a case, they will lend you one to bring it into and out of the range from your vehicle. I'm sure I've not covered all of it, but that's what I recall right off.

I went into Denver Palmetto State today. Very nice store. Many hundreds of guns. Lots of ammo on the shelves at your usual damnpanic prices. 22LR Aguila 23 cent per round. Tula 9mm $19.99 per 50. Lots of scopes Sig, Vortex, and Leupold. Pretty close to online. Slightly higher.

Demo the class rooms and member area to increase store size. Upgraded the AC in the range. Sound proofed the range on the store wall. Couldn’t hear the firing unless close to the range wall. Only saw two people on the range. Low range prices similar to the old ownership. The sales personnel were very friendly and helpful. Fought the urge to buy a Beretta 1301 Comp 12g and won. Gun, apparel, cases, holsters, components well stocked. I’ll be back soon.

We should do a meet and greet- shoot, dine, and tell big fish stories.

Sometimes the store here in Mt. Pleasant has matched online prices, other time they said I needed to order it online because they can't match it.

I fought the urge to go over there about an hour ago. I was in Denver, but headed back to the house. I've been wanting to get a stripped lower and the last time I went in they had just sold the last two they had in stock. I did pick up a trucker hat though for my range/firearm hat collection. They actually had some that fit my big fat head. I twisted my arthritic knee yesterday and don't feel like standing to shoot so I may go back out there if they have any stripped lowers in stock. Gonna call first. It's not a high priority, I just get the impulse from time to time and want to use their lower since the parts kit I have laying around is PSA. I have a lonely upper.

It has to be the same SKU to match is my understanding. Interesting that the exact same item may have a different SKU in the store. They aren't doing ship to store yet, at least in Denver. I hate being held hostage by UPS/FedEx/USPS, or worrying about expensive potentially dangerous stuff just sitting there. Porch piracy is a big issue around here.

@TripleO7 I never had a non-FFL item shipped to the store, but have had FFL items shipped to the store and no transfer fee which is nice. This is for FFL items ordered from their online store.

I didn't even think about that. I ordered one of their new Dagger pistols last week and had it shipped to my normal transfer dealer who charges $25. Hopefully next order I'll remember.

I was told they weren't even accepting transfers from their own website

YET

When I was there last Saturday, they said a guy came in and bought their last 13 stripped lowers.

Right now they are not allowing shipping to the Denver store for pickup.

I can understand that. The business gets settled in and operating smoothly. But I could also see only FFL items allowed shipped to Denver.

The place was packed with shoppers. I would guess 50. A bit tight with that many. But there were more than window shoppers. I saw three guns being purchased and ammo being bought. The young man who assisted me on shotguns was knowledgable and showed me other guns to compare to.

I was told they didn't have enough storage to accept them just yet. But it is coming

That's what I was also told. The guy said they were also getting ready to extend the building to add more space.

I didn’t look back to see if I already posted these…but here’s two Q&A about shipping stuff there:

That's true about the other stores. Just not yet in Denver
Right…just reminding others that (1) you’ll still pay for shipping on firearms while avoiding the transfer fee and (2) you can’t get other stuff shipped for free if you’re local to the Denver location.

Well that solves that.

The Range at Lake Norman lets me shoot whatever ammo I want...they get to keep my business.

I went today, man they need a bigger parking lot! Had to park around back, no big deal really.... all kinds of ammo, a crap ton of accessories, knives, mags, fishing stuff, clothing, a large selection of pistols and rifles!!!! Handle a few “next purchases” really loved the feeling of that arv, 8 inch barrel sweet!! But none of the 35 rounder mags for it....

Glad I left my “gun money “ home or that arv would have been mine. Only thing I didn’t like was no ar kits? Plenty of uppers and lowers but no kits.

They was also hopping in the gun range, a lot of shooters!
