Ok, this is it.....

Sending a Mark V back to Weatherby today. I have sent guns back for repairs and recalls many times. I have only had one disappear. Shipper paid for a new one at MSRP. I guess it is in a lake or river by now, it was about 20+ years ago.

I love the CZ platform but it is not equal to this, but then again even tuned up they don't cost as much as the one below. LOL

Very nice gun no doubt.
I’d rather have my CZ and the money left over. Because that won’t do anything the CZ can’t do, except maybe slightly tighter groups. And the CZ will do somethings better, too. Like hold more than double the rounds and be reliable af.
Just my opinion!

What Kel Tec do you have and why didn't it earn your love? They have excellent customer service if it's not working right.
It's working ok, I just don't like it a lot now that I have nicer guns to shoot. It's the P3AT, or whatever, and it was my 2nd NC gun, used on my CC permit test, but it's pretty snappy and it's not my favorite to shoot. I do shoot it every once in a while, so if a robber attacks me in the bathroom to try to steal the laundry, I'll be ready! Lol.

View attachment 134745 They make a cheap 9mm 1911 that actually works and holds more boolits.
I've tried a CZ, I think the 75b, and I can't rack the slide. Not sure if I've tried one like the one pictured. I'll see what happens when they return my 1911 or send a new one.
How cheap is cheap??

Believe she stated she has a 3AT. Too light of a gun.

CD
Yes, it's too light, but it did what I needed it to do to get my CC permit, and was my first carry gun. It also stepped in for carry duty when the Sig and the 1911 9mm went all nuts about the same time, and while I shopped for new carry gun (a G19, as it turned out.) I don't love shooting it, but I'll keep it.

Yeah if I am in the mood to shoot a fullsized CZ i have a CGW Shadow 2.and a CGW 75B. If I applied that logic to guns I would just own $500 Glocks and keep the money. There really is nothing I can do with the GI or a CZ that I can’t do with a Glock if I am being honest about it.

The Shadow 2 is one of the best out of the box values on the market right now IMHO but it still does not have 1911 trigger. I am just a duffer with a nice set of clubs. You will find me in the rough more often than not. LOL ;)

The slide profile of the CZs is small and harder to grasp than a lot of other designs. If you drive the gun with your strong hand you can learn to rack it without issue.

That makes sense. I had one myself, a snappy little devil. Not a range gun, lol but something you can carry wearing anything.
Exactly! When I want nothing showing whatsoever, gun-wise, I carry this gun. It holds more rounds than the p238, and it's real easy to hide. A lot of my family have no idea what I've got into lately, and I use this one when extra discretion is called for. LOL. (My family doesn't "approve" of guns....tattoos, either, for that matter, so as you might imagine, I'm the oddball of the group!)

Unfortunately, though my hands are way stronger than they used to be, I'm still unable to do it....though I think I did rack the slide on the one I shot at Battery Oaks....I can't recall, but Billy will know. I should give it another try, maybe. They have one at the range.

Thanks for sending this!
When I first tried the CZ at the range many months ago, I did try all the techniques listed in the article, but couldn't do it. Maybe I should try it again, now that some time has passed and my hands/fingers are stronger! (If I can do it now, this might be really bad, as I think CZs are fantastic and probably will want one....lol.)

My logic was that an SP01 (600$) is a better 9mm than you are likely to get in a 1911 for the same cost.
You then applied the logic that a 3000$ + Custom made 1911 is better. It is indeed nicer Han an SPo1.

I then said I’d rather have my CZ and the money left over.
My CZ was 1700$ so not sure what 500$ glocks have to do with this. And frankly, the trigger is short, SA, and under 2 lbs. so not sure how much better the trigger needs to be, lol.

And your CZs are actually small frame CZs.

I think you are missing my point but oh well it happens all the time. I would agree that a SP01 is going to be a better bet for reliability than a 1911 in 9mm at the same price point but I would not necessarily say its a better platform. YMMV. My point for posting the GI was to agree with @fieldgrade who said sometimes you need to go to the semi-custom level to get 1911 in 9mm to run. Which is often true but not always. Many people have $600-$$700 1911s in 9mm that run fine. I have a Dan Wesson Valkyrie commander that is 100% and its a production gun. It is on the higher end of production 1911s but still production. Also the GI was not a $3,000 gun. LOL

I brought up Glock because if you are looking for the lowest common dominator to get the job done Glocks to me are a bench mark. A decent shooter can do 95% of what they can do with a higher end gun with a Glock. It doesn't mean we don't want or "need" something else but if I am looking for the most economical way to tick most of the boxes a Glock is hard to beat at any price point. PS I am not a Glock fan. So my logic is that if I am looking to get the job done for the least amount of money I would get a Glock. Basically I applied the same logic you used to insert CZ into the discussion to insert Glock into it. It was also tongue and cheek because I am not that good a shooter that it really matters abut I guess you missed that part. LMAO :D

From your description it sounds like you have a very nice CZ. I hope it serves you well in the wars to come. I will just keep shooting my "small framed" CZs which are listed here on their website under 75 Full Sized Series.....
https://cz-usa.com/product-category/handguns/75-full-size-series/

Anyway shoot'em if you got'em. If they don't shoot send them back to the factory or fix them yourself.

PS I am not trying to be argumentative I was just making a joke and poking fun but clearly it did not translate.

Ok, this really is it, guys! Just got a text saying a FedEx package is coming to me tomorrow from NV, and I have to sign for it.

Of course, they don't give even the tiniest hint of whether this might happen before noon, or after noon, just that it will happen before 8 pm. Lovely! I had to cancel my shooting plans in order to wait around the house all day....LoL.

I'll keep you posted on what they sent back.....

It will come at 7:59 pm unless you leave the house, and then it will come while you are gone. Ask me how I know.

I did, that's how I knew it was on the way. I can't specify a time frame, though....I'll hang about the house all day and wait for "my precious" to get here...LOL. Or maybe it'll bae a new gun...who knows?

Exactly why I rearranged my shooting plans for the morning. LoL.

I figured that just as I was getting ready to shoot some rifles, I'd get a text!
So naturally, I'll hang out all day, and it probably will show up at the last possible second!

I don't even want to ask about your sad gun delivery story, it's sure to break my heart. LoL.

Resist the urge to step outside and pop a few off after you have ripped the package open. We know you'll want to. Resist the urge.

I’ve found the couriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx) each seem to arrive around the same time of day (the Mail Female around 11am, UPS around 5:30, etc.). If you’re really curious, you might ask your neighbors whether they have experience receiving FedEx packages around a certain hour (noting that there’ll usually be two different FedEx trucks working the neighborhood, one for overnight and one for “slow boat”).

I'm going to try real hard not to haul a** to the range the instant I get that thing unwrapped! I got 1,000+ rounds of 9mm! LoL. But I can save it for Friday....maybe!

At one time I did think I had them figured out, but then they went all backwards on me, and now I have no idea what to expect and when....I've had FedEx show up at 9 am, and I've had them show up at 3 pm. The mail person shows up at diff times also.

I don't send guns off, I fix those. It usually has to do with cell phones, security devices, replacement credit cards, ammo, and all of that other crap that requires a signature or you don't want sitting in your driveway.
