Opinions on the Sig P365

I had the 365 and the 365XL, to me the XLs extended frame is a much better fit in the hand. Gave the 365 to my daughter. See if you can find a shop that has them all and see what feels better to you, can’t go wrong with any of them.

I recently acquired a P365XL after havin my arm twisted by Chaz at The Gun Store. I liked it, but the grip was just a wee bit too small for my hands.
Ordered the Wilson grip module, spent 5 mins watchin a vid and about the same swappin it out and I was diggin it. Just enough.
Picked up a HS507K for it yesterday and installed it last night. So far it's seems to be working nicely but I'm still unsure if a "almost-full-size-grip-with-a-short-upper" type rig wouldn't be a skosh easier to control.
Like @Red Marley said, a carry is a real personal thing.. Yer the only one that can figure out what works for you..
I don't see how anybody can stand carrying in their pocket. Mebbe I walk funny but somethin beatin on muh thigh when I'm walkin is a real annoyance. Even the occasional outing with the P3AT it hasta be clipped up top. Better yet inna cell phone case on the belt..

The 365 grip was too small for me and squirmy. I bought a Boresight Solutions grip module with the Razorback hump and now it locks into my grip. It is accurate, more accurate than I thought I could shoot. A massive improvement over the stock grip module, for me.

I bought an xl, then added the aluminum frame from icarus.

Took the left over xl frame and put a standard 365 slide assembly and fcu in it.

Essentially i now have an x model with the curved trigger (which i like more) and It's my edc now. Sold the xl setup.

I carry the regular old 365 in the 12 round extended magazine or “x” configuration. No issues with it yet. I do have a flat trigger in mine

I love mine, it started life as a regular p365, but now it’s got a the Wilson combat XL frame, with the optics ready P365X slide and a holosun 407k. The modularity of it is really what amazes me about the platform

I give this 4**** out of a possible five.
We have a "custom" polymer frankenpistol, in a photo from the driver's seat of a car, at highway speed, with both hands off the wheel. We even get a little hairy sideknee in there. That's a very strong attempt but -1* for no junkular area in the background.

I do not trust them. Sig’s QA Dept is located within you.
I don’t know if the firing group is the same design as the 320, so I wouldn’t wear it.
Why no ports?
Ported barrel pistols are range toys.
Picture having to fire the pistol up close and personal, with it held closer to you. The blast along with the powder/brass/copper particulates shooting straight up into your face. Then consider the additional hearing damage, and loss of terminal velocity.

Not sure if I have responded to this thread or not… I have the original P365 and I absolutely love it. I’ve had a ton of carry guns over the last decade, and this is one of a few that I feel extremely confident with. Typical Sig trigger is excellent. If you have large hands, and you probably should look at getting the larger version. I’m 5’ 6” with smaller hands and the 365 fits my hand perfect even with original 10 rounder.

If I would get one now I would get one with the optic plate so you can put a small optic on it. The only thing I plan to change on mine is put some kind of grip tape on the grip. The textured grip will rub my side raw unless I’m wearing an undershirt.

He must 🅱️oint to redeem himself.

What holster are you using with a red dot? Does it protect the dot or have it sticking out?

I've been happy with my P365. It's handled basically any kind of ammo I've ran through it without issue. I've only had one issue with it. At a little over 5,000 rounds the trigger reset spring broke. I can't find a definitive recommendation on how often you should replace it, but the fact that Sig sells them in 3 packs is probably an indication of fairly often. It's a 10 minute job so I'll probably just change it every year to be on the safe side since it's my main carry. While I had it apart replacing the spring I went ahead and added the Armory Craft flat trigger and I really like that improvement but I'm a flat trigger guy so your mileage may vary. I also at some point added the Zev extended mag release which keeps me from having to change my grip to drop the mag. With my hand size I just couldn't do it with the stock one.

Purchased the 365 for my wife she really likes it. The original with the 10 rounders were to small for my hands but just purchased the 12 rounder today and it’s better. Looking at the xmacro for me I’m a capacity snob

I have a 365SAS and absolutely love the feel, and sight on it. My only complaint is that the controls are small, and can be hard to manipulate, especially under pressure. As everyone else has mentioned, it’s tiny, so it disappears wherever you decide to hide it. Solid choice, for sure!

Cheers

I love the XL but the FCU in mine thuds when you pull the trigger due to loose fitment, its super noticable and makes the trigger feel crappy. Sent it to sig and it came back even worse, and now the takedown lever rattles around. Plastic is also very thin on these (bend it in with two fingers). To be honest, I'd go with the P320 compact if I could do it over.

I just past the 1,000 round count on my P365X and recommend it highly.
The “X” version is optic ready which is an option you want to have yet retains the shorter barrel for carry. I run a Shield SMSc optic on mine and have no issues whatsoever carrying.

My XL did the same. Someone suggested the Wilson Combat grip module. Ordered one and it fits great! No more thud and the triggers feels much better.

L have a few Sigs and the P365 is one of them. Very accurate at 15yds even with the "cheap" Tula ammo. The gun always impresses me and if feels very good in the hand. Makes me want to get the XL.

They are meh. Might be nice with a Mischief Machine grip module.

If you get one, definitely get the M Carbo spring kit, it will make the trigger a good bit less awful. Cheap and easy upgrade.

one thing I like about the 365 ( regular model) is that you can make it an “x” by adding the 12 round mag, or 15 or 17 round mags if needed while still being able to go super small with the 10 round mags when needed. I can also buy a new slide for it to make it into a RDS configuration model if I chose to go that route. Unlike Glock where you have to buy a whole gun to keep the serial numbers matching if you choose to keep it that way.

I was at the range yesterday, when after 3 mags I had a dead trigger in my XL.
Took it home and found that the trigger reset spring had somehow come off.
Simple fix, but it tarnished my confidence in this pistol.

@wyattratt did you end up doing?
If nothing have you seen this thread?

FWIW I've toted and shot plenty with this 365XL, Holosun K and WC grip module for several months..
IMO it's a great lil carry gun. It's never failed in any way and hits what I aim at right up until I start right hand squeezin again..
But even with the WC module it's still just a skosh small for me to get a good, firm grip on it.
The WC grip module is a cheese grater on an old man's dunlap.
Still not totally sold on the dot. Yes, it's great for the range. But I've noticed for carry it seems to be somethin that requires fiddlin. I regularly pull the pistol and aim at somethin over the course of the day while I'm at home just to keep practiced. Some things I run into:
Reticle is too bright/not bright enough.
Dot has gotten warm under the shirt and the window "frosts" when it hits cooler, moist air.
Dust/lint/shavings/hay collect in the emitter area when I've got muh shirt tucked between to ease said grating.
So the jury @ Casa de Jake is still out.
I truly do like the 32MOA circle for targeting/"finding" the reticle and I've only had to re-adjust the dot for POI once with the co-witness cluing me to the fact that "somethin's outta whack".

All that said, a P320 X Compact followed me home a coupla days ago after the Friday lunch.
Much more hand filling. We'll see how it totes. Sans dot at first, anyways. 🤠

If you've got something like $13 to spare, try the Hogue slip on grip for the P365. It took me from "this is just a bit too small" to "this is just right", and I normally HATE all things slip-on/stick on when it comes to grips.

agreed, would be curious to hear your perspective. Personally I have over 1,000 though my P365x and I am quite pleased.
They’re not the company they used to be. I carried a P228 on the job for over a decade. Great pistols, but lotsa small parts to break or shake loose. We changed to the M18 and had sights flying off and springs breaking on brand new pistols. I just don’t care to be a “beta tester”. It’s still our agency-issue pistol, but everyone carries personal Glocks as a preference. Just my .02.
There’s several “Sig hate” threads on here. I don’t hate Sig like others do, but I do think they’re over-engineered and lower quality than they used to be.
But, to each his own. I don’t slam anybody’s choices for their individual use.

From what I understand Sig Sauer USA is a completely different than the “old Sig”. Interesting history on the company from 9 hole review worth watching if you want details.

I'd like to throw my hat in the ring. Agree completely with the over engineered. When you complain about fitment issues you're told by Sig "oh, that's just because of the modular design".

Maybe I don't want a cheap, rattley, loose "modular" gun? No one has ever won a gun fight because of how many grip modules they have in their safe.

I want one bombproof, accurate pistol. For that, there is a Glock. There are plenty of other makers that are running the glock OS I'm sure, but I don't know enough about them to speak on them.

The P365 has a different feature set the Glock for sure.
I personally did not feel the interchangeable grip modules were a selling feature for me bit some may. I think it is analogous to the Glock “safe action” trigger. You trade a spongy trigger for a pistol that does not have a manual safety. There are always trade offs in product design.
For me the reason I replaced my 43x and G26 with a P365 was size and optic cuts. It comes down to what you feel is important.
