Opinions on the Sig P365

The P365 has a different feature set the Glock for sure.
I personally did not feel the interchangeable grip modules were a selling feature for me bit some may. I think it is analogous to the Glock “safe action” trigger. You trade a spongy trigger for a pistol that does not have a manual safety. There are always trade offs in product design.
For me the reason I replaced my 43x and G26 with a P365 was size and optic cuts. It comes down to what you feel is important.

Yep there's no free lunch. 365 is smaller, but as a result is less sturdy. Thinner plastic, thinner metal, cheaper mags, more flimsy internals. More capacity, yes. Glock has the optic cuts too though with MOS. There's no wrong answer, but if you dropped me out of a plane I'd rather have a g26 than a 365 any day

Well not quite. What I REALLY wanted was a G43 with optics cut. tried the 43X and (like many) didn’t like the grip. I toyed with the idea of either having the slide cut on the 43 or buying a 43X MOS and switching slides but at the end of the day I opted for the P365X. Same size basic size (with pinky extensions)and weight but 2X the capacity and factory optic cut.

It's not twice the capacity, you have to compare 43x (10rd) with 365x (12rd) to be apples to apples. 365x gets +2 because frame and magazine thickness is greatly reduced. If you took the mag out of a 365 and stepped on the grip I'd imagine it would crack. It's not magic that gives the extra capacity!

What turned me off from the 365 operating system was taking the FCU out and looking how flimsy the internals are, I felt like I needed to be handling it with tweezers.

Again, there's really no right answer... but I'd sacrifice 2 round capacity for ruggedness! If you're happy with your choice, you made the right one

dimensions above are for G43 6 rounds vs the P365x which is 12. below is for the 43X which fails in size weight and capacity.

Glock 43 is comparable to sig 365.
Glock 43x is comparable to sig 365x.
Glock 48 is comparable to sig 365xl.

These are non-negotiable facts. "Fails in size and weight" is an abstract opinion dude. Idk how it fails, it's well within subcompact spec, it's just 1/8" taller and weighs 0.7 Oz more than another gun lol.

I'll dispute the 365xl being comparable to the 48 since it's dimensionally a dead ringer for the 43x. The 48 would be better compared to the 365 xmacro.

Is it?
I hard to compare the two what with the comped slide and whatnot. We have got to stop comparing glock and sig. I feel like this is a trap lol

I think the slide on the XMacro is the same length as the XL. The barrel is standard 365 and 365X. Then it has a not detachable ports which makes it the same length as the XL. The grip on the XMacro is longer than the XL.

I carry my p365XL on most days. Its so easily concealed and there are lots of holster options for it. I found it to be a little less snappy than the regular p365. I did change out the grip module to the wilson combat, which I really like. I had a chance to get a feel for the macro and that also feels really good in the hand!

Idk I purchased mine NOV 2020. I posted pictures of the rust on a 365 fb group and a bunch of people also had similar issues and called me an idiot. "Just take steel wool to it and re-oil it. It's fine" the barrel finish flaking off isn't common but I've seen it a handful on other 365s. The reaction I got from CS on a $600 gun telling me to unload, wipe clean and re-oil every time I carry a gun and the rust is my fault after 30 days of ownership was insulting. I didn't carry the firearm at work either so it was just weekends.

Tbh it's a great gun and I loved it but the company's reaction to a small simple QC issue ruined it for me.
I saw this while cruising the forum. I am considering getting another regular 365. I had one and honestly I loved the gun, it carried great, shot great but man it had some issues with rust on mags, and the slide. Granted SIG fixed the issues after 3 trips back to their plant in Yankee land. It had rust on mags, they sent me back new ones, slide had rusted, sent it back with a new one. Front site broke off of the rusted slide they sent me a new one. I went back to Glock as my EDC and have not really strayed from them. I now am debating getting a new 365 just mainly for capacity and the FCU building option. Has the reliability of anyone that has been doing the 365 thing changed? Anyone go back to a 43X or 43? I love my 19X for carry but from time to time need small, and capacity is a somewhat concern over the 43. Any thoughts on 2024 on the 365?

Buddy runs a few different 365s and has no issues. Even with the barrel finish on my model flaking off it ran fine. From my own personal experience and personal friends they are solid. Just sig being douches ruined it for me. I carry a p01 and abused it for quite a few years and still zero rust

Mine ran just fine but I admit I got mad and lost faith in SIG because it went back so much to get fixed. I kind of regret that now. I can’t decide if I want a 43x or a 365 of some flavor

I still think the XMacro Tacops is the way to go. Non-comped slide and 4 mags. If it was out before I got the 365xl I would have gotten it. Not enough difference for me to get one though.

As a southpaw, I prefer the 365 to the 43x as my trigger finger is able to actuate the slide release on the SIG.

I've seen a lot of people mention rust but they must have fixed the issue. I haven't seen it on mine...yet.

I love mine but when firing under time I hit about a foot to the right. Not sure what to do with it? It's relegated to the junk drawer right now along with mismatched gloves, unknown holsters, broken knives, etc. Went back to my Springfield XDS for everyday carry. Hits where I point it. Usually two to the chest, one to the head under two seconds from concealment. Not bad for an old FUDD. :) Handguns are like shotguns. If they don't fit you then you will never hit what you are pointing at. You aim rifles, point shotguns and handguns.

I carry a 43X or a P365 x macro comp. the 43x still feels a little more awkward to carry, maybe another holster would fix that but the few I've tried haven't felt as nice as the P365 and a cheap holster. I have a lot more rounds through the glock since the sig was the more recent purchase, and the glock been a laser for me. The sig on the other hand, feels a lot less accurate, I'm waiting for a dot to arrive to see if it's just me (it still is much better than a G19, I cannot hit the broad side of a barn with one). Both are comfortable for me to shoot and you could put either in my hands and I would be happy with the choice. All things equal, I'd grab the glock if I had to pick in the SHTF scenario if I had to choose between the two. I've got more time and it seems to like me a tiny bit better. The comp is a little gimmicky on the xmacro but it is nice with the high powered 9mm.

I have a similar experience with the accuracy under time, but not as bad as 1'.

Of course one can always spend 150–200 bucks and make their 365 a Macro with a Wilson Grip and 17 round mags.

I bought an xl model because the xl has the same size grip length as the standard model with an extended mag so I’d rather have the more sturdy 1 piece grip with a flush fit mag instead of the mag base plate grip - they’re both as easy to conceal and you can always switch parts around later if you want something bigger or smaller

I just recently got a p365 optic ready model. I can adjust and move the grips to my liking but the SIG modularity does offer options.

IMO the XMacro is the way to go. 17 + 1 and flat shooting. Have one in my edc rotation and love it.

IMO the X-Macro is the best option. It's a micro-compact that shoots like a compact. So controllable with that little bit of extra grip, and the 17rd magazines are super nice. Plus the slides now have their rear sights separate from their optic mount so you get to have both on the gun, rather than just one or the other like on the old P365xl slides. Get the X Macro, and if you're worried about the grip being too long for EDC in the heat of summer, pick up an XL grip module and some 12rd mags for summer carry. Though that's a non-issue IMO. I think that the X-Macro is one of the most perfectly balanced pistols that can be both EDC and home defense. It's much easier to shoot than the other two variants, while being just as thin so it doesn't print anymore than they do.
