2) Will we see people listing them on Armslist for "what they paid" after the eclipse?
I know a guy that thinks Jesus is coming back on the the 21st. I think he's an idiot. He also believes the world is flat and that a different species of human or alien live in a huge cave in Antarctica.
Same thing on 40 eastbound today around Mocksville. One of the traffic advisory signs on Hw 264 today said "Solar Eclipse August 21, 2017 - Plan Ahead."
Glad we got that little tidbit from our state leaders. I wouldn't have had any idea without the nanny state providing that vital piece of information.
Don't look! It's a trick. It's a giant memory eraser.

I need some Moontan Lotion.
Yes, I forgot I will also need a pervo shot to keep from humping legs. HooowwwwwwwllllllllIsn't that pretty much Nair (hair remover) for the lycanthropy-challenged?

That's a normal grocery order around here.I bought 200 cans of potted meat and 200 packs of 1 5/8 square nabs.
I bought some 35mm film. Instant low budget eclipse goggles.
So when it's in totality will it still damage the naked eye?
I went through my welding supplies and found some #10 and #12 shades - I'm all set.
I cnt imagine that's enough protection after looking thru special actual eclipse glasses. Those things are so dark the o KY thing you can see is the sun....nothing else is bright enough.I bought some 35mm film. Instant low budget eclipse goggles.

Sounds like they missed an opportunity by not planning appropriatelyWent by a major welding supply house in GSO this morning. The counter guy said that they sold out of Shade 14 lenses 3 weeks ago...

I'm in Michigan on vacation, I got a pack of 3 rolls at a Meijers store here which is like a Walmart.Where did you find 35mm film? I haven't seen any for >2 years or so.
From what I've read, those aren't dark enough to be safe.I went through my welding supplies and found some #10 and #12 shades - I'm all set.
Correct, it's because of the damaging UV raysI posted in another thread on this topic - the issue with the solar eclipse is looking at it wont hurt your eyes like if you looked up at the sun today. It plays a trick, of sorts, on your brain, doesnt hurt you, but WILL BLIND YOU/CAUSE DAMAGE PERMANENTLY.
Do be careful if not using the approved methods for witnessing the event.
