Rittenhouse self defense analysis

In today’s lunch discussion I told the group “the kid showed more restraint than most people or even LEO’s … he only fired 8 rounds at 4 different attackers”. They looked at me funny … thought about and nearly everyone said they’d have fired more rounds also. The kid did show situational awareness far beyond most 17 year old especially in todays Play Station shot ‘em games.

Perhaps he trusted The Force.

I got to talking to a lawyer friend. He said that for KR to do the defamation suits he'd have to commit his life to depositions and open up his family to scrutiny that none of them may want. They'll be living in courtrooms at a time when they may very much just want to shrink into obscurity.
There's a lot of people projecting onto KR their own desires to get even with the leftists, using him as their proxy to stomp a mud hole into their heads and drain both their wallets and spirits so as to prevent them from rising again.
KR might just want to hug his family and go to school for a while if that's even possible anymore. I'd say give him the space he needs. He's had a rough 14 months and is suffering PTSD. When he's ready he'll make a move. I simply wish him happiness and peace.

Sandman wasn't in court for the rest of his life to fleece cnn, he does still have a few lawsuits open. hopefully Kyle hugs his momma and goes scorched earth on the scum who defamed him including applesauce brain biden calling him a white supremacist before ummm being elected president

I’d imagine most would get settled out of court like Sandmann and Wapo. A fraction of 250 million is still a good chunk of change. Media outlets would not want to be found “guilty” of defamation and a settlement is a better option for them.
For a settlement I start with them having to print a FRONT PAGE retraction and apology … and I’d drop the amount to say 50 million … not being to greedy,

And "They" pay ALL legal cost.

I hear ya but I'd still like to see him get something substantial for what he has had to go through, being dragged through the mud and still being slandered by the left

OTOH, he did put himself into the situation and went armed knowing he may have to defend himself. I'm not judging him for his sense of community preservation, or whatever you want to call it. He's been through a lot and has to live with having taken lives, even if they deserved it, it may weigh heavy on his mind and he's got a long way to go being so young to begin with. I hope he gets the help he probably needs.

Hopefully CNn and MSNBC Leborn, Cori Bush and SLO Joe can give him plenty of Benjamin’s to help him get thru this

Sounds an aweful lot like “consent of the governed”
There is a wee problem with the phrase, "consent of the governed". You see if one gives consent, then they are not governed. If one is governed then it is because they did not consent.

There are two basic ways in which people can interact: by mutual agreement, or by one
person using threats or violence to force his will upon another.

The first can be labeled “consent”– both sides willingly and voluntarily agreeing to what is to be done. The second can be labeled “governing” – one person controlling another. Since these two – consent and governing – are opposites, the concept of “consent of the governed” is a contradiction. If there is mutual consent, it is not “government”; if there is governing, there is no consent.

Some will claim that a majority, or the people as a whole, have given their consent to be ruled, even if many individuals have not. But such an argument turns the concept of consent on its head. No one, individually or as a group, can give consent for something to be done to someone else. That is simply not what “consent” means. It defies logic to say, “I give my consent for you to be robbed.”

Yet that is the basis of the cult of “democracy”: the notion that a majority can give consent on behalf of a minority. That is not “consent of the governed”; it is forcible control of the governed, with the “consent” of a third party.

Wife just showed me a post (maybe FB?) from a friend of ours. Thought it was worth sharing.

If you are not happy with the Rittenhouse verdict, with everything else being equal, the only difference is Kyle Rittenhouse is your son – your decision switches to self-defense immediately. You are a champion for his defense. Since he is not your son, you had what the media gave you. And they gave you a doozy.

Before charges were even filed, the media labeled this 17-year-old kid as a white-supremacist. A troublemaker. A far-right terrorist. A racist. They didn't even know who he was yet, other than a name.

GoFundMe halted and erased any effort to fund-share his expenses. Social media censored pro-Rittenhouse posts, and in some cases blocked or banned users that made such posts.

The year leading up to the trial went fairly quiet. Once it started though, the media was back on their destructive rampage. Taking shots at Kyle as though they were at war trying to assassinate his character and mold public opinion to their favor. But it wasn’t only the media. Once again, the White House took a stance on a high-profile case. This time they post from Joe Bidens’s social media account a picture of Kyle and speak to ending white supremacy. Like the finely tuned propaganda and divisive machine they are, they set the stage like they have so many times before for us to choose a side. You’re either on the side of the Wisconsin law or you hate Kyle.

Once the trial begins it is painfully obvious, he acted in self-defense on all accounts. The prosecution bumbled over any type of case they had, which was none. If you watched 30 minutes of the trial, you knew this. Yet the media doubled down. Kyle was the aggressor, Kyle was there looking for a fight, etc. Top media lies proven false in the court:
1. Kyle drove across state lines with an illegal firearm. [Family Feud wrong answer buzzer sound here]. Wrong. The firearm was already in Kenosha locked in a safe at a buddy’s house
2. Kyle was too young to have the weapon. [Buzzer] Wrong. Wisconsin law allows 17 years old to possess said weapon.
3. The weapon was illegal. [Buzzer] Wrong. Legal rifle, legal length, legal ownership, therefore the judge presiding over the case dismissed this charge.
4. Kyle had no business in Kenosha [Buzzer] Wrong. Kyle lived 20 miles away in Illinois but worked as a lifeguard in Kenosha. The day before the shooting he drove across the border to go to work and stayed the night in Kenosha at a friend’s. Went to town the next day to help clean up from the previous night’s rioting. What a scumbag.
5. Kyle went to town that night armed, looking for trouble. [Buzzer] Wrong. Kyle went to town that night armed to try to help protect private owned businesses. Trouble found Kyle.

When there is any sudden loss of life, in most cases that is a horrible event and should be investigated thoroughly. In doing this investigation we found that the 1st man Rittenhouse shot and killed had a laundry list of reasons to not even be there. He was a convicted child rapist on numerous accounts. Why he’s not under the prison is beside me. He had just overdosed in a McDonald’s parking lot and was released that day from a mental ward. He was witnessed pushing a literal dumpster fire towards a gas station. Witnessed in the face of Rittenhouse and other concerned citizens, being very vocally aggressive. None of these actions beg to get shot and killed, but it was what happened next that ended up there. Again, if you’ve seen the footage you should be on the side of Wisconsin law.

The 2nd shooting: After being chased down the street while being threatened verbally, knocked over, kicked in the head and struck with a deadly object (skateboard) multiple times Kyle fired the next fatal shot. Don’t even try to argue a skateboard isn’t deadly. Have you ever held a skateboard? Swing that with force at someone’s head while they lay on the ground and tell me if it’s deadly or not. I’ll wait. Again, after seeing this in court you should be on the side of Wisconsin law.

The 3rd shooting happened mere seconds after the 2nd shooting as an armed assailant pointed a pistol at Kyle’s face. All 3 are clear examples of self-defense, but if you had to rank them in any kind of order, this one wins the day. I remember a few days after this happened I was chatting with some buddies about it. We all agreed it was almost as though Kyle was very disciplined with his moves here. The man with the pistol, Gaige Grosskreutz, halfway presented his pistol to Kyle and Kyle presented his rifle in return, bringing it back to rest after Gaige lowered his pistol, no shots fired. It was then the sworn testimony of Gaige Grosskreutz that Kyle only shot after Gaige presented his pistol in a threatening manner. The round from Kyle’s rifle tore through Gaige’s right bicep, leaving him rendered as a non-threat while Kyle ran away yet again trying to find police. Speaking of traveling to Kenosha with an illegal firearm; Grosskreutz traveled further than Kyle did to get there, and due to his criminal record, should not have been armed. Why isn’t Gaige being rung up on charges? Hopefully that is coming.

The fact of the matter is this trial should have never happened. All three instances were documented by digital video recordings, and by eyewitnesses. Did media pressure get to the state? Remember what was happening at the time. Coming off a nationwide set of riots stemming from the George Floyd incident, and more locally the police-involved shooting of resident Jacob Blake, the U.S. was nearing powder keg status. Kyle seemed to be a reason to maybe get some closure to this stained era in time. Crucify him in the media and let the court of public opinion be the jury.

The 12 jurors in the Rittenhouse case saw another avenue: let justice win. Certainly they felt the pressure of the outside world. They weren’t sequestered, you know they all have smart phones and can see what’s going on. But the simple fact in this case is Kyle Rittenhouse acted on 3 separate occasions in self-defense as Wisconsin law is written. It better be written the same way in the 49 other states. If there was only one right on the planet, it would be the right to defend yourself from harm. Why Kyle was standing in front of the business armed with a rifle is every much his right as it was the right of the people to be in front of the business screaming at him. Why do the rioters that are burning buildings to the ground and doing millions in damages get a pass, but those protecting the local businesses are labeled racists, and white supremacists? The media has turned into a propaganda machine, and people are all too quick to listen to them and parrot their sentiment without having all the facts first.

If you read this entire piece, thank you. Until the next civil unrest, my friends….

This is going to put a lot of light on the GA proceedings. Actually, I'm hoping it will distract from Kyle.

I liked it when one of the lawyers on the site I was on, commented as Kyle suddenly left the courtroom, "Yes. Get him outta there, now!"
Ah, you were watching the Rikeita stream.

My wishes that he sue the dickens out of the media outlets that slandered him has zero to do with my desire to stomp a mud hole in the “bad guys” I disagree with. It’s far more practical.

He has a very obvious name. He will find it nearly impossible to just “blend in”. He will forever be the “Kenosha kid”. For better and worse. It will follow him to college, trying to get a job, meeting a mate, friends, and his family will forever carry the scars the media inflicted on him. His ability to get a job, follow a regular career path, and experience a “normal” life is over. That is why I want him paid. It isn’t a matter of revenge, it’s a matter of them crapping on his future and his capability to lead a normal existence where he will either fail or succeed on his own.

That is a tangible damage that demands a remedy. Not a feel good revenge story.

Ehhh, I can see both sides.

On one hand, he's had documented PTSD, being in therapy and unable to sleep. I can see him wanting to move on.

On the other hand, I think that, educationally and professionally, his life is over. It'll be a few years before he can grow a good beard, so even changing his name won't be enough for awhile. The lawyer said he wants to be a nurse, but I can't see any school or job accepting him, with the protest baggage that will come with it. He might be in a case of being unable to get a job and move on with his life, and be in a permanent funk.

That's why I think he should do something to gain some money to invest and live on for the rest of his life, at least till he's old enough to look different and be forgotten, say 7 or so years.

So, write a book(which a lot of publishers, being political, won't accept), or get some settlements. If it were me, I'd mention considering suing the big(rich) networks of CNN and MSNBC. It'll give him a chance to get offers from civil lawyers, and get those networks stewing in the idea of another Sandmann case. Get a lawyer, sue them, get a few million in settlement, then go dark. That's what I'd do, if I was him.

^^^ This why lawsuits exist. The damage done to this kid is forever. Economic and mentally. And skateboard man should be added for attempted murder in an independent suit. Add bicep punk also.

KR has granted an exclusive interview with Tucker Carlson. 8pm Monday.

I hope he's going through his attorneys for any interviews.

If he's going to go down the law suit path, he needs to strictly what his attorneys say and not deviate. Those waters are familiar territory to the MSM and the only way to win at that is not to play by their rules. At all.

I ran into one of those just now on IG, which reminded me of why I don’t participate on most social media.

This is what showed up on my IG feed as I scrolled through.

As you can imagine, most of the replies are positive. I had a moment of weakness and said:

Too bad she’s driving this city into the ground. So sad.

Somebody just replied to me with this:

The profile pic in question?

I will resist replying…
I notice she does not contest the point that the mayor is driving the city into the ground.

So where do you guys/gals think the major riot will occur regarding the verdict? My guess is it will not be Kenosha. With the KPD and the NG on standby I think it will be elsewhere once again proving that these”protest” are not organic grass roots events but rather bought and paid for by Soros and his ilk…My guess is Champaign…close enough to Chicago to bus a lot of people and a liberal college town that is large enough to have plenty to burn and enough space to spread out…hope I’m wrong but I think we have all seen this movie before…
I wouldn’t be surprised if protests happen on Black Friday when it can create a major cluster by blocking off roads. Also because it will be easy to convince the protesters that the name of the day is racist.

Not with a parade of Karen's trying to get their kiddos Christmas gifts. I don't think I know a man brave/stupid enough to get in front of that mess.

"I imagine FOX is paying him (lawyer fees!!) for the interview."

“I did not approve of that. I threw them out of the room several times,” Mark Richards told CNN on Friday. “I don’t think a film crew is appropriate for something like this.”

Fox News firebrand Tucker Carlson was the man behind the film crew, which put together a “behind the scenes” documentary of the Rittenhouse trial. Carlson announced the doc shortly after Rittenhouse’s acquittal, alongside the news that he’d be interviewing the 18-year-old.

Richards explained that people funding Rittenhouse’s defense and the experts who testified were behind the film crew, and that he didn’t always have final say on their access.

“I don’t want to say (it was a necessary) evil, but a definite distraction was part of it,” Richards told CNN. “I didn’t approve of it but I’m not always the boss.”

Richards said Rittenhouse and his family had final say on the access Carlson’s film crew would"

Let’s not question a kid using a film crew to pay for his ability to buy a great law firm. His life was on the line. An innocent man was up against a wall and he made the right decision. The lawyer for Kyle got his check so he is just covering his ass. Hope he gets millions soon and retires to Aruba.

It'll be nice when everyone leaves this kid alone for a while so he can try and get on with something of a life.
Not everyone will leave him be, but I hope a lot do.

I've been to Aruba, I would not recommend it to him.
