El yucateco
El yucateco
In general, Tobasco, with my favorite being the Chipotle Tobasco, hands down.
Texas Peat has its uses, though.

Frank's..... get put of here with that other stuff lol. if those are my only two options though ill go TabascoI know that there are thousands of hot sauces out there but this is for Tabasco and Texas Pete only. Which do you prefer?
Valentina is awesomesauce- have you found a grocery store that caries it?I grew up on Texas Pete, and I like it on fried chicken, but between the two, I'll take Tabasco.
My personal preference is for Franks Red Hot and Valentina Mexican hot sauce. I typically use both together at the same time. Texas Pete tastes a little bland to me.

I like all of these in chili, my wife can't have ANYTHING hot/spicy, so I have to make it plain and add sauce later. I like all of these on eggs (scrambled or omelet), vegetables, Caribbean-style beans and rice...
- Dave's Insanity Sauce. First "real" hot sauce I ever had. I still have some and use it, but it is intense. Not for amateurs. As mentioned before...shake well
- Tropical Ghost Pepper Sauce. It strikes ME as not quiiiite as hot as Dave's. I like the flavor. Also intense.
- McCutcheon's Screaming Hornets. My in-laws get me this in MD (so I don't have to go up there). This has great flavor, and it's not so hot. Instead of using it by the drops as the first two, you can pour it on your food (well, I pour it). It's a slower burn, that doesn't peak as high.
- Yellowbird sauces. My other in-laws got me this one year. These are also not as densely hot as the first two. They expire faster. Very nice flavors.
I would say that the Screaming Hornets and Yellowbird sauces can be enjoyed by most folks, except those who can't deal with any spiciness at all. The other two are not for the faint of heart
Never been a fan of just vinegar and pepper, like the two poll choices...

It also comes in a glowing red. Get the XXXTRA hot, it's brown and has a smokey flavor.I just grabbed some of their bright green habanero sauce. It is decent, but with that color I am terrified to read the label and see what is actually in there. Pretty sure it will take weeks off my life.

All three of them are good, but I think I liked the green serrano one the best, especially on eggs.I have had the others I will have to try out the Yellowbird. I think some of the sauces just are too hot for the sake of being hot. They lack flavor and nuance. I agree 100% with Padma Lakshmi when she says that hot sauce should be hot, sweet, tart and salty.
YOU've got to try Benny T's Vesta, he grows the peppers & makes the dry 'sauce' in Cary. It scares me, it's the only thing that made peeing scary. It is/was sold @ Whole Foods in Cary.View attachment 41105

I finally tossed Dave's Insanity, it's stupid hot yet no matter what I mixed it with it tasted like burnt shite.
My wife's and my current go to is ElYucateco XXXTra Hot.
These are 2 really good episodes.
They both taste bad w/o heat. Sriracha's great, ElYucateco XXXtra Hot has a great smoky flavor, Benny T's Vesta (from NC) is stupid hot.

When I got introduced to Vesta, I had too much and had a new experience the next morning...Good call. I use Vesta all the time. Great stuff. I have two versions of it. Great stuff. You can buy it at the butcher shop on Kildaire also.
