2005 Yamaha FZ-6 for me... Got it just a few months ago, after owning a 2002 Concours C10 and a 2000 Honda Shadow 750 before that. So far, I'm loving this bike. Fuel injection FTW, as far as I'm concerned.
You're right.
Fuel injection is the way.

Thanks it's awesome everyone tries to get me to trade it for a street glide or something. I won't do it. She's pearl white and I call her the white knight.

My current ride is a '81 Harley FLH in bought in the mid '80's.Been through a lot together. We both pop, crack, squeak and groan when we move.
Got a letter Today-1/7/17 from NC DMV that my HD is now 35 years old and do I want to antique tag it.

Brand new in 1974. Hit a Cadillac with it. Lived, and sold it to dad six months later when I went off to school. He had it another 20 years, then gave it to JAARS. They sent it to Indonesia, and last I heard a missionary had it there.

Sweet. Insurance may get cheaper for your 'antique'. Companies figure you'll take more precautions with it.
And no more DMV inspections either.

I run antique auto plates on my other old cars. It sets the tax value at $500. I can insure my other cars with Hagertys, but they won't do motorcycles unless you have another one to ride.

I told the DMV that I paid $200 for my 74 Elsinore, was prepared to pay tax on $200.
They said no, that bike is worth $78, and charge me $2.80 tax.
Ok. :)

Win!!

Dang...I need a good "commuter" bike to get me from Clayton to the NCSU area for work.
It really sucks to ride the Monster from home/to work & back, especially in the summer months.
I'm burned up from the general "outside" temps plus what comes off the bike...

So, suggest me something for a commuter...and not some poke-ass slow thing either. :)

Dualsport?
Like a KLR or something?

Do you know what is the tallest seat height you will be able to handle? I have been looking at at the KTM 690, FZ-07, SV650, etc for my 5' 5" wife. Her seat height is needing to be under 31" and most of and along those styles of bikes fit the bill

Yea, 31" is gonna be pushing it for me.
I think my Monster is at 29 or 30" and I can't flat foot, not toes only, but more like the balls of my feet.

I still want one of these!

The Elsinore brings back memories. I had the 4 stroke bike that the Elsinore replaced. That was a great bike. Enough low end torque to idle through almost anything and enough high end to get you in trouble.

Then I bought an 1100 Shadow Ace. Burgundy and cream. Bike was way too heavy for me so I let it go.

Current bike. Has been mistaken for a Bonneville more than once.

Daddy said that Granddaddy had an Indian once. Until "it took him down and wallowed him" and he sold it.
