The NEW Mossberg MC1 Single Stack 9mm Pistol (It Takes Glock Mags!)

If the price is right, they may be on to something.

A good salesperson could sell those all day if they represent a significant savings over the Glock. Again assuming the price is good and the reliability is there.

The way I used to get top dollar on higher end Hondas after giving a sales presentation and test ride in a Volvo 240.

I need to go into the polymer striker fired pistol business as evidently there is infinite demand.
And infinite potential for profits. o_O

How about that for terrible timing. The day after Glock’s presser about two new models that’ll probably sell like gang busters since they fit the people who are in between the 43, 26, and 19 series for preference. Sorry, Mossberg

first pistol in years and they imitate Glock. FFS why? Well it has a few things going for it: No stupid Luger-derived sissyboy grip angle. No trigger pull for takedown. But it's even fuglier than a Glock.

But...smart using the G43 mags now that the G43x is out....should be a plethora of them on clearance sales the rest of the year.

If it sells for around 350 it may fall into the niche between the Taurii and a Gen-U-Wine Block.

Taking glock mags is a smart move...
I read a while back in one of the Mags that comes around here a quote from the writer...Anybody today building any semi anything should take advantage of all the R&D done in the last 30+ years by Glock. Just save your money for the proprietary mags and use Glocks....Well, when I first read that I said..That guy's NUTS. Then I actually Thought about it and said..That guy is a genius! Think about the money it saves in manufacturing and the market that it opens to you from people with hoards of G Mags.

I am going to fall on the "I like it" side. I always like seeing new players in the game, even if what they are bringing in isnt exactly revolutionary. I am also a fan of Mossberg, so I am excited to see what they do with a pistol platform, and the CCW market is the most ripe for the picking.

Looks like SR9C-ish to me, which I don't hate. I'll withhold judgement till I actually see/fondle/shoot one.

There's a couple spots in the vid that appear to show two different models. With safety and without. And that push button trigger safety is different and will probably woo some folks, but I still prefer a slide safety on a cc handgun (if it has one).
But what gets me, they ignore the LC9s which is firmly and solidly in this camp. It's lighter and thinner than the Glock or Shield, shorter too. Holds 7 rounds in the flat mag, and has what most consider the best factory trigger with the Walther a close second. I've seen LC9s models selling for $299 and that new EC9 right around $200. I think Ruger has one of the strongest contenders in this market but they seem to get forgotten.

Hmmm...

This year, O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc. turns 100 years old. To celebrate, the rifle and shotgun company is doing something a bit different—they’ve released a handgun.

Today, Mossberg announced the release of a 9mm concealed carry pistol dubbed the Mossberg MC1sc (subcompact).

Though the company has limited its production to long guns…and some short shotguns, for decades, it did begin as a handgun company producing the .22-caliber, four-shot “Brownie” pocket pistol. You can read more about that and the early days of Mossberg here.

The MC1sc has been released in five variants, all chambered in 9mm: the standard MC1sc (MSRP: $421) and an optional cross-bolt safety version (MSRP: $421); two other versions with upgraded sights - either TRUGLO Tritium Pro Night Sights (MSRP: $526) or a Viridian E-Series red laser sight (MSRP: $514); and a Centennial Limited Edition with a tritium nitride barrel and guide rod, polished DLC slide, and 24kt gold accents engraved on the slide—which will be limited to a run of 1,000 guns with special serial numbers.

From Mossberg:

“The MC1sc reflects three years of development and new patent-pending ideas in combining the most highly-desired features in the subcompact market with Mossberg’s innovative approach to design. Important features in a subcompact handgun are size, weight, caliber and carryability; and the MC1sc delivers with its overall length of 6.45 inches; recoil-managing weight of 19 ounces (with empty magazine); and barrel length of 3.4 inches in the popular 9mm chambering. Other desired features include two single-stack magazines, a flush 6-round and 7-round extended; glass-reinforced polymer frame; and suggested retail price of $421 for the two standard models.”

The pistols all feature what Mossberg is calling Clear-Count single-stack magazines that are constructed of a transparent, lubricous polymer compound “that offers low friction and high wear resistance, while providing quick at-a-glance assessment of the number and type of rounds loaded” in the magazine.

Not only that but it is a huge positive influence on reliability as well.

The mossy may hit the real world at $229.00 or even $199.00.

I’ll buy one just to beat the piss out of it. Run a few K of el cheapo, dirty ass ammo just to see what happens....bury it in mud, shoot it underwater....let’s see what happens!!

If it comes to market that cheap they'll sell 100 million of them... I know I will buy one if they come in under $300 just to play with...

Yeah, at that price I like it. Not sure if it will replace my Shield, but I do think they are coming in at a good point.
