The single best thing you can do for the mental health of your kids is to remove them from the public school system immediately. Home school or a small private school that you can thoroughly vet.

Not being caught up in a shooting or teacher molestation is just a side benefit.
 
I'm sick of the "mental health" lip service. You can't fix mental health without first cutting out the rest of the cancer that the country refuses to rid themselves of. Mental health issues became a thing when right and wrong no longer was.

Bring back the importance of discipline, fathers, traditional gender roles, expectations...that's a start.

Fox news reports that an elite Border Patrol team arrived at the school to assist the local forces, entered that area and killed the shooter.
One BP team member was injured to a leg, not sure if it was gunfire or shrapnel.

Instead of looking weak while whining about gun control that wouldn't have solved the problem anyway, this was a golden opportunity to show actual leadership that would have broad appeal, and say something like: "Effective immediately I'm issuing an executive order that calls upon the Department of Education to provide physical security audits and local grants to hire armed security officers at every school across the country. Additionally, I pledge to veto the bill allocating 40 billion dollars to Ukraine and I call on Congress to pass a bill spending that money on a national school security program instead."

Or something. Anything that might conceivably help.

I guess they care more about "equity" and using the FBI to retaliate against parents who complain at school board meetings when their kids get raped in the bathroom.

First reports was that BP was after him and he ran into the school. That was not true, but BP did respond to the school and shooting. Sounds like BP was the one that stopped him.

I have always presumed a difference between someone with a mental illness and someone who is evil. In this case, there was evil. I suppose I am ignorant of these things, but evil must be vanquished, illness can be cared for. The thought to harm others because of one's own misery has always escaped me.

As horrifying as this event is, I would submit to you that the greater evil, statistically speaking, is being perpetrated day by day, child by child, in the current public school system.
No amount of arming individual schools will protect your kids from the evil being fed to them in the current public educational system.

Get. Them. Out. of public schools.
 
Biden says other countries don't have these mass shootings, he is right, other countries have been around 500, 1000, or more years, are mostly one ethnic group.
The USA is a nation of nations, we have our Constitution and Bill of Rights, while these other countries do not. He blames the gun lobby when the criminal is responsible for the murders.
