What did you do in the reloading room today?

Wasn’t really planning on doing anything, but I decided to check my Annie annealer water level in the radiator. Topped it off (it evaporates out just sitting there) and then decided to fire it up, and annealed the 7.5 Swiss brass I cleaned the other day. Figured I may as well resize them while I was there, then tossed those and a bunch of 30 cal cases together into the wet tumbler (clean the lube off). 30 carbine, 30-06, 308, 7.62 Nagant, and a few 300 BO. They are drying now.

One more update on how the reloading room is coming along. I need to take everything off the shelving units and reorganize all that and I have a bunch of preps in the garage that I need to figure out something to do with. At my old house I kept all the preps in my reloading room but it makes everything look so cluttered. Not sure what I’m going to do there but I’ll figure it out. For now this will do to make some ammo. My girlfriend told me a couple months ago that it didn’t look like any ammo would be loaded this year. I got it done just in time to load a few just to prove her wrong. Loaded a few 300 grain 44 mag with 14.5 grains 2400. They were very comfortable to shoot in my Redhawk, but a bit nasty in my small frame 44 Tracker. The ones with the green colored primers were 15.5 grains 2400 and were Redhawk only, but still comfortable to shoot and very accurate.

I actually did some reloading in my reloading room today for the first time. I resized all the 300 blk from my last range session. They are in the oven at 170* drying out. I seemed to have misplaced my lemonshine so I used dawn dish soap and couple squirts of liquid dishwasher soap. They are not as shiny as what I can usually achieve with lemonshine but they’ll work for range fodder.

edit
I googled what temp is best for drying brass and many people claimed it takes over 400 degrees to achieve negative impact and that 250 on convection for 15 minutes then turn the oven off and let the brass sit in the oven for another 30 or so while it cools works great and I can say it does. They were all dry after 45 minutes.

Afte buying 2K CCI SPM primers by mistake, I want to see how they shoot in a 300 BO. Loaded 30 rounds with Shooter's World Black Out powder (16.2 gn), Hornady 150 FMJ. The OAL is 2.194" and guessing the velocity around 1,600 ft/sec. That is the middle point between minimum and max loads.

Loading up the last of my .44 lead bullets for .44 special and .44 magnum. After all of my reloads are gone I may downsize out of .44 chambered guns.

Definitely shoot my a PM when you are ready to sell anything related to 44 Mag. I picked up a Henry lever in 44 and looking to start loading for it

I tested some more of my 110ftx loads for the 25x45. Think I am going to go with 24.7gr of xterminator. I want to try some faster powder too.

When ever I pick up 308 or 6.5 CM brass at the range, I always run them through a SB sizing die. Today a guy gave me some first fired 6.5 brass and when I tried to resized them in the SB dies, I could not get them into the sizing die. I ran them through my FL sizing die without a problem then back to through the SB die without a problem. I am thinking that the guys chamber had to be oversized or worn out.
This is the first time ever that I could not resize range pickup in the SB dies. Well that might not be true, I could not resize some 308 brass that I think was shot out of a machine gun because of the flutes on the brass.

Just finished loading 50 rounds of .260 remington as test loads. I went from 42.5 grains up to 46 grains, under a 140 gr Barnes Match Burner. I will shoot these through a chronograph and check for best groups at 100 yards. Best group will get another test.😃IMG_20240121_143605.jpg

I aspire to attain your level of awesome! LOL. Stuck in the garage still myself. I did however, finally get back to reloading (some 9mm) yesterday and loaded about 100 rounds. Focused on rifles and loads for hunting season between October and January 1. Gotta get back to the pistols for play and competitions now.

No reloading but tried to put a Streamlight with pressure switch on a 7" hand rail. It cannot be done. I ended up putting the light on with the end cap switch. Also, I had to take off the sights to get the light mounted. I figured the light is more important then the manual sights. I have a green dot and also the green laser.

I’ve got an electric dispenser that is consistently .2gr low. I just check against my beam and adjust it up until it’s right. It holds right there though so I don’t worry about it. I weigh about every 5 charges manually to make sure it isn’t drifting and it’s consistent unless the temp drastically changes.

I haven't done much lately aside from spend money. I found a hole in the wall place in Georgia yesterday that had LRPs for $85/k and H4895 for $41/lb, so I bought some of both. Apart from that I've got about 1000 .223 cases sitting waiting for me to load which is a tall order on a single stage, but I only do batches that big a couple times a year, most of my other loading is surplus military calibers 40-100rd at a time.

Where in GA, there are a couple of powders I’m looking for.

Nothing reloading related, but in the reloading shack.

I mounted the pistol brace back onto my CZ Scorpion EVO. (I was able to retrieve it from the trashcan where I had discarded it a few months ago). I also mounted a Hogue buttstock onto my Mossberg 500 home defense shotgun. I decided I did not like the cheap tactical adjustable buttstock I had on there. I also cleaned the guns from my last range trip.
