BUMP STOCK BAN RELEASED TODAY

It ain't about bump stocks...

“There are going to be Republicans who resist this because they say, ‘Give the gun control people an inch and they’ll try to take a mile,'” a reporter asked Pelosi at a press conference. “So how do you plan to overcome that when the truth is that you would like to go further?”

“So what?” Pelosi responded. “They’re going to say, ‘You give them bump stock, it’s going to be a slippery slope.’ I certainly hope so.”

Spectrum News14 has story on this today.
The had an animation of an AR with the grenade launcher
And a suppressor attached as the rifle bumped back and forth.;)

That ,likely, came from CNN
After Vegas they had the same (sounding) animation and it went viral as people started photoshopping a bunch of other stuff where the grenade launcher was.

Trump could have been the best if he wasn't such a crybaby Richard head. Hell, if he just ditched Twitter he would be 100% better.

Twitter is just his tell. He is like a schoolyard bully. More bark than bite. And when he gets pushback he caves. Very disappointing. But we did elect a New York Republicrat. o_O

I'd vote for the douchebag again tomorrow if my only other choice was Hillary.

Well there are always at least 3 choices since we are not forced to vote for anyone. Sometimes I wonder if it is worth the time and effort. The long, slow decline goes on no matter what I do.

It won't change for 2020 either. We will still have two lousy choices to choose from.

let's face it, the only hope for this country is blood. We are headed for a worse recession than the 2008 recession which got obama elected, the dollar is going to tumble with the massive debt that the country is incurring (government and population). 2020 will be the full take over of socialism with medicare for all, universal basic income, minimum living wage and a slew of giveaways.

The ATF has overstepped it’s power.
They're betting on no one having the time, cash, or wherewithal to challenge them. In the end, they lose nothing and whomever challenges it loses a lot, even if they "win."

And yet, I still cast a ballot. Not because I think it will make a difference, but to have a clear conscience when our Republic enters a more dynamic time in its life, such that the choices that are then thrust upon the People have a clear and demonstrable moral clarity when the Ballot Box is no longer appropriate.

I didn't want a bumpstock till now.

Still don't really want to use one just would like to have one.

For personal use, there is really nothing useful about them. But in my opinion, what they are good for is poots and grins.

I mentioned earlier about putting one on my AR47 and taking it to my dad's 70th b'day celebration. The were several guys there that besides not being regular shooters, weren't even gun owners. Playing with the bump stock on that rifle was the highlight of the sober part of the event.

The latter. The finger presses the trigger back for each round fired.
What he said. You still pull a trigger for each shot. So now, several videos on youtube will pop up with people showing how to do this without a special stock and a new cry out for a ban on evil black rifles follows.

You guys aren’t saying the same thing, and neither gave me a straight answer, maybe because I asked the question wrong, so let me ask another way.

Clearly the trigger is pressed back to fire each shot, and the only thing touching the trigger is the finger, so I understand the argument that the finger pulls the trigger for each shot. Now, forget the trigger and focus on the finger, does the finger move backwards to pull the trigger for each shot, or does the gun move forward against the finger which is being held rigid for each shot?

I agree that this is all stupid and that it can lead to lots of problems like requiring many rifles to be redesigned or removed from the market so they can’t be easily made into such “machine guns.” Also agree that Trump opened this door, although I’ve said all along that he’s not very bright. That said, I would like to memorilize this executive order by referring to all rifles with bump stocks as “Trump Machine Guns.” They are also feared by many and largely ineffective, so I think appropriate on several levels.

Not that it makes a hill of beans, but the mechanics are simple. Firearm moves forward -- that's the "bump".

Perfect, thanks.

So the issue for those intent on preventing further infringement is that this device does facilitate the function of a machine gun in that the trigger is mechanically activated rather than activated by an intentional pull of the trigger. Showing that the gun can be caused to fire repeatedly with a single conscious pull of the trigger through other mechanical means, either be a rubber band, a shoestring, an electric drill, or nothing at all, is not a good argument that the stock does not facilitate automatic firing, rather it’s an argument for requiring a 20lb trigger or some new lawyering around the definition of machine gun so that none of these tricks will work.

It’ll be interesting to see how the litigation progresses, selecting a court will be key as will Trumps directions to the DOJ on how vigorously it should defend the EO.

The DOJ is using the 'back door' to change a law that only Congress can do.
Trump and Wayne are not stupid, this ban is by design so it ends up in court.

Put a schematic drawing of a full auto AR next to a semi auto AR.

There is no auto sear in the semi auto rifle. You can not have a machine gun without the necessary parts.

I could put an AR semi rifle or pistol in a rest and clamp it down, then use a cam on a hand crank to work
the trigger and not have a bump stock.

So let's see... a bump stock turns a semi into a full auto according to ATF.

Therefore once you put a bump stock on your AR it is now a machine gun in they eyes of the .gov.

Also according to the ATF once a "machine gun always a machine gun". That's why we can't get neutered M16s and M14's, etc.

So, even if you take the bump device off your AR, it is still a machine gun.

Now will the ATF declare that by removing the stock your AR is a semi again? Or are all those guns now NFA felonies no matter what?

And if that is true, then the same logic should be applicable to M16 receivers with semi auto FCGs or AK's with the third hole drilled or surplus M14's...

What makes him the best in the past 40 years?
Genuinely curious what makes him that
Well for starters, he's exposed the globalist agenda, the deep state, and the corruption in our political and intelligence infrastructure the likes of which has never been done before, not even close. He is beholden to no one, spends his own money and fights like a junkyard dog. The amount of abuse he has withstood is simply mind boggling, and he soldiers on. He's tirelessly worked to undo what Obama did to this country the previous 8 years, from massive deregulation to stuffing the courts at every level with honorable constitution supporting judges. These things he has done on a scale unprecedented except possibly by his immediate predecessor, who did them to freedom's detriment. I can go on and on but these things alone are more than enough IMO.

I agree the basis for this ban as stated "a single pull of the trigger" is factually incorrect and with the other obvious inconsistencies you mention should be challenged in court.

You missed the argument that if easily converted to a machine gun, then it is a machine gun. So all rifles capable of being bump fired would be machine guns. It’s so overreaching that it could be good for us. If the legislature intended for semi-auto rifles to be restricted, they could have written the law to be clear on that point, that they did not means that they did not so intend and the court should not allow the administrative agency to make law. IMHO the litigation needs to include some meaningful asks in terms of reducing infringement, otherwise there is no risk for those pushing to reduce freedom. It needs to cost them something to lose.

I agree he has done some good, but he has rolled back the regs because it involved NO fight. He has caved and ran away like a little girl on the ACA, the wall and now the 2nd Amendment. I would have love to see what he would have done with the rest of the Republicans supporting him. But he also didn’t say he’d repeal the ACA and build a wall IF Paul Ryan and McConnel help. He made the promises unequivocally. So far, he has failed. I hope he stages a nice comeback.

And he didn’t expose the corruption. It was apparent for some time. They just became more aggressive afyer killing Seth Rich and squeezing out Bernie. They had a lot to cover up.

A susinct explanation of what's going on. Especially helpful for those of you who think this is about bump stocks.
