Alright, here goes nothing. I met
@hlpressley at RCWA this morning. Spent a little time at the 25yd pistol bay shooting a couple handguns I'd recently acquired. Also let him try out a couple suppressed firearms...pretty sure he said it was the first time he'd actually shot one. Glock 21 with Osprey 45, M&P 22 Compact with Warlock, and 9mm SBR with Octane 45. I had my 10yo with me and he tested out a few as well.
@Wahoo95 and
@Bailey Boat showed up about the time we were switching to 22LR rifles. I shot a couple rounds of 22LR through my RAR, just to make sure it was close. My son also shot a mag through it. Then the three of us moved over to a 50yd range and let Wahoo & Bailey Boat start shooting at the 25.
I have a Ruger American Rimfire 22LR Compact with 18" threaded barrel. Scope is a Bushnell AR Optics Drop Zone-22 BDC Rimfire, 2-7Xx32 (so I know I'm underpowered in the optics department compared to most of you). Just hoped my 20/13 vision (tested ~3 weeks ago) and 7X would be enough to at least hit the targets...which is also why I posted earlier that I'd be tickled to score over 80.
Only ammo I tried was CCI SV, and I used my Silencerco Sparrow.
Here are my test shots...which gave me hope. 8" target, with bullseye ~1.5":
I'll post my targets up high to low. And I'll post all seven of them, to hopefully help those that are concerned about what their scores may be feel OK.
Best score was a pair of 84s. I believe the top one is better because it had the potential of being a pretty decent score...except for the 0 on the 5th shot. Easily should've been 90+, but is it what it is.
My son tried it twice. Zero coaching from me. Scored a 19 and 34. Although, I failed to mention the two sight-in targets on the left side, and he hit a 9 once on each sheet...so I'm comfortable calling it a 28 and 43, especially since there's one target on each sheet without a hole at all.
Here's a shot of him on the line:
Be interested in seeing what Eddie and Bill did...
Maybe I can try again before the month is over. Suppressor and/or ammo options are plentiful.
