Now that I have your attention, serious question. I haven't bought any in a while, nor do I shoot a lot, but how in the world do people/ target shooters/ AR owners/ go out and shoot 100's of rounds a weekend of 9mm or other calibers for that matter? I mean you're seeing 9 going for close to $1 a round. Last two boxes I bought were $14.99 a box at Dunham's a little before Christmas 2020 and I bought them just because. I just can't seem to make myself go out there and pop one off. Every time you squeeze the trigger, do you think, "well there goes a dollar"? Or if you shoot 50 rounds, "there's $50 down the drain". I love guns, I swear I do. I have a bad infatuation with pistols. I want more and even though I'm so unfortunately broke right now, I find myself on here and a few more sites every night dreaming. I'm not a seasoned gun owner. I haven't saved up 10,000's of rounds of ammo. I just wonder how people do it. I would love to know what it's like to have enough money that I could shoot 100 rounds of 556 or 9, or even 30-06 for that matter. I have given $37 for 20 rounds of hunting ammo, then I've given .79 a round for military surplus. I thought I was getting a good deal in that, but to hear some say, I got ripped even then. But who can afford to just waste it even at that amount? Do you guys think ammo will ever come down or do you think hoarding will just keep running the price up? What do us new gunners do, bite the bullet so to speak and pay up for ammo now? I've asked several questions that hopefully won't rub anyone the wrong way. Don't want any smart butt answers. Just looking for guidance from the ones that are actually here to help.
