Here is what I have ordered so far:

20" Faxon barrel , 416R stainless coated in QPQ nitride. 1:8, 5R-EE, button-rifled
Lehigh Defense/Millennium Manufacturing's 6.5 "Monster" bolt
Sionics NP3 coated bolt carrier w/ firing pin, NP3 coated cam pin and firing pin retaining pin
Noveske marked VLTOR MUR upper with forward assist
Noveske 16.5" NSR handguard
Noveske low pro gas block
Black WMD rifle length gas tube

I already have a BCM comp mod 1 that I removed from my 300 blk than I plan to use for now.

If all these parts come in before I get paid again I use the lower off my DDM4V11 PRO that already has a PRS stock and Geissele SSA-E trigger in it to go test the upper out.

Here's the 6.5 bolt with the Grendel "monster"

Thats some nice gear you're putting together.
Have you decided what optics to run yet?
Also you have mags?

No mags yet, totally forgot but I'm eyeing the E lander mags that AA sells. I only need a couple.

I have a vortex viper 6.5x20-44mm on my 5.56 SPR right now that I plan to use until funds allow getting something a little cleaner. I only shoot at the range during daylight ours so nothing illuminated. I have a Vortex Razer HD spotter scope that's really clear, So I've been eyeing the razer gen II scopes.

Thats a damn nice scope too!
Im running the Elanders also, just have 2 so far.
Thinking about trying a couple of the ASC ones.

Im using a weaver kaspa 3x12x44 i picked up from member here to hold me over but it has
surprised me how well it performs. Im not in a rush to replace it for now.

My rifle groups the hornady amax better than the hornady eld match for some reason.
Look forward to seeing a pic when u get yours assembled.

Sounds like you both have scopes I've never tried, would like some feed back on the SWFA SS10x when you get it.

Ordered a BCM LPK last night, I looked at a bunch of different kits but after using the BCM and reading all good reviews I decided to stick with them.
Some of the other brands list reviews of out of spec parts.

I also ordered the noveske marked pivot and take down pins, not sure why? But since I haven't assembled anything yet I figured I might as well go full tacticool.

The BCM LPK comes with a BCM Mod 3 pistol grip that I like and have on two of my rifles but I ordered a Hogue just to try. I have a magpul on one of my rifles I don't care for so it's getting replaced with either the BCM or the Hogue.

Review of the scope by Rex.

But it's really good, tracks perfect, clear glass, Rugged.

Only downfall is that it's fixed power of 10x

Simple makes it rugged and easy to use, and cheaper for a given quality level. Zoom is nice but far from a necessity. Unless you spring for a first focal plane scope, the reticle ranges and holds change with zoom, so a lot of people end up using a single setting anyway.

I almost ordered an Odin Works 16" barrel today to redo an older upper.

There are a lot of odin builds on the Grendel forums, suppose to be a decent barrel. I went with the Faxon barrel due to current group buy that was going on that will also have the laser engraved grendel "Monster" on the end of the barrel like the one pictured on the bolt.

Have you got yours from that group buy?

I had a 16x SWFA SS scope. Great scope for the money. Tough as nails, but the higher magnification made barrel mirage a pain in the ass after a few shots. If I had to do it over and was gonna get another one of these I'd get the 10x. I think you'll be happy with it

Nice! My son & I were ringing plates yesterday with my tack driver. I'm loading Lapua brass with 130g Berger VLD over 28.3g of BL-C(2) powder.

That is really nice!

I went and picked up a Noveske Gen I stripped lower and a Noveske marked Geissele Ambi super charging handle today at my local shop.

Going through my parts I think I have everything I need to finish the build once I get all the parts in, just need ammo.

Also received an email that my E lander mags are on back order .

Awesome. I would love to get my SPR in 223 Wylde out past 100yds but I don't have any place to go.... Lol

This build is going to be awesome! Can't wait to see it put together!

The range I use is $20 for all day use and goes out to 200 yds, so I'll go there to get zero'ed in. And then to test it out another place has a 600 yd range but it's $20 and hour. Hopefully it doesn't take to long for all the parts to come in!

There's a M&G in about a month that'll give you the opportunity to get to 350+. ;)

Not a bad drive from Rock Hill.

My center bottom AR is a BCM 9" 300 Blk out pistol, it has the BCM KAG handstop. That's my favorite, feels right and it's light.

Top center is my Daniel Defence M4V11 PRO with the DD handstop, it came with the rifle and works okay so I left it there.

To the left is my S&W Sport II, it came with the Magpul AFG-2 angled grip. Don't care for it but it's not bad enough to buy something else.

On the right is my 16" BCM, it has a Strike Industries LINK-CFG (Curved Fore Grip), looked "cool" so I tried it. My hands are to big to fit comfortably inside it, I thought about cutting the front part off but didn't want to ruin it. So for know it's there, but I think it will get replaced with another BCM KAG.

Bummage. I'm pondering selling mine and building/buying a 6.5CM bolt gun. Or even re-barreling my Sako75.
I'm absolutely sold on the 6.5 round.
I went with the Grendel because you can buy ammo at the same price or cheaper than some 5.56, the creedmore is more expensive. My 300 Blk ammo is already expensive enough and I don't plan to reload.

I also want to keep to the AR15 platform, after the grendel I might build a .458 socom but doubt I would shoot it very much because of the price of ammo.

You might want to consider it if you burn through ammo, my 44 mag, 300BLK & Grendel aren't painful to the wallet to shoot.
I want a short action (read 'light') threaded high twist 16" bolt gun for a 458 SOCOM. The Howa mini action looks like the ticket, but I can't find just the action. It'd be great with 400-500g subsonic slugs through my Hybrid.

I like the look of the LINK-CFG, small & light with a a lip to post up on. The KAG stop looks nice. I didn't like the feel or bulk of the Magpul at all. I put a small IWI handstop on my 300BLK SBR.

Do you come for work or to visit?
Work, It's an hour south of me. I've been a heavy equip mechanic for @ 36 years, now it's on the road sales. I've a customer off Tom Starling Rd that's a shooter as well, I recently gave him about 10 10" 3/4" steel squares to shoot up.

2nd round of parts came in today, BCM LPK/Noveske Marked Vltor MUR upper/Noveske 16.7" hand guard/ Noveske gas block with black rifle length gas tube/ Noveske pivot and take down pins.

I was going to wait until I had everything but I couldn't resist assembling the lower.

What made you decide to have someone build yours instead of doing your own?

Complete working and tested vs me getting tools I don't have.

Once I sell my house next year and move, I'll be building a complete gun room which I no longer have to build ARs out. Once I move, I'm going to change my 14.5" (perm attach hider to 16") Upper into a 16" light weight 6.5gr

Oh I see, yeah I bit the bullet and bought all the tools I thought I would need to start building my own earlier this year. Had another forum help me get the brands and tools that really work and not just the ones with good advertising.

This will be my first upper but with the Noveske kit it pretty easy to assemble.

Lowers I do at the the kitchen table and it takes me about 30 minutes to complete a stripped lower.
