Hear that Ortiz and Lidell are fighting each other, not sure if its in UFC or not.
Agree on TJ - Cejudo. TJ is fighting at a very high level.MM Vs. Cajudo was a great great fight, but I thought MM edged him out. But it was a good win for Cejudo and ended the stalemate in that division. Don't see Henry taking out TJ though. Will be interesting to see how MM bounces back.
Some other very interesting fights coming up:
Till Vs. Woodley
Shevchenko vs Montano
Adrade vs. Other polish chick Koweisghkisomething
Yair Rodriguez vs Zabit (this Zabit guy is incredible, must must must watch)
Magny vs Cowboy Oliveira coming up too.
And, on the Connor card, there is
Ferguson vs. Pettis
and return of Sean O'malley

Is Montano for real or just more shark bait for Shevchenko in this new division?
Zabit's skillset is amazing, but from that fight in Boston, he's not packing much power.
Ferguson vs Pettis I think is insurance for the main event. If either Khabib or Conor has to pull out, Dana will have the option to substitute Ferguson so they don't end up with a fiasco like they did with Khabib vs Al Iaquinta - I'm sure Dana has discussed this with Ferguson. It's also a fairly quick turnaround for Pettis who fought very recently.
Yeah, Sean O'Malley is fun to watch for sure.
All I have to say is WHY ????Hear that Ortiz and Lidell are fighting each other, not sure if its in UFC or not.
We both know that answer...$$$All I have to say is WHY ????

Now that we're less than 2 weeks away, I'm cautiously allowing myself to get hyped for the Conor v Khabib fight. Still a bit nervous that something will happen and one of them will pull out or be DQ'ed for medical reasons. Here's hoping they both make weight and both show up to fight.
The rest of the card is pretty good too. O'Malley in the prelims. Derrick Lewis trying to make amends for his terrible showing vs Ngannou. OSP v Reyes. And Ferguson v Pettis.
Had a chance to watch Khabib v Michael Johnson (it's on Youtube). He is definitely vulnerable standing up. Johnson was hurting him before Khabib got the takedown and did what he does best. If Conor can stuff a couple of takedown attempts, he will be in a great position to make Khabib eat some of those lefts.

Lidell was a beast in his Prime. Hard hitter, and I’ve never seen anyone that could escape takedowns like him. He could just make standing back up with someone on top of him look effortless. His defense got him in trouble later in his career after his prime. He liked defending with his face.Hear that Ortiz and Lidell are fighting each other, not sure if its in UFC or not.
Ordered the UFC 229 tonight, first PPV I’ve bought to watch at home in a long while. Had to make sure the fight was going to happen before ordering. Now that we're less than 2 weeks away, I'm cautiously allowing myself to get hyped for the Conor v Khabib fight. Yeah. The Trump comment was hilarious. That and “my balls got hot”. He’s my hero of the night. The Black Beast, Derik Lewis. That was a crazy comeback vs Volkov. Possibly a Pro USA Athlete. Said something like Trump called him before the fight, told him he had to beat the Russians LOL!
McGregor won round 3, that’s it, but not decisively. He stuffed all takedown attempts that round, and landed more shots that round which they stayed on their feet. Just didn’t have the energy to summon his power after those first two rounds.I counted 3 guys assault McGregor. Plus whoever Khabib hit when he jumped out of the ring. All should be prosecuted for assault.
As for the fight, Khabib dominated and McGregor never put him in any real danger. I think Khabib's streak of having never lost a round remains intact.
After watching El Cucuy, who doesn't want to see him take on Khabib. That looks like the fight to make as Ferguson is clearly the #1 contender.
McGregor may never hold the lightweight belt again. Will be interesting to see if he's willing to cut down to fight at featherweight again.

UFC President Dana White said three people affiliated with Nurmagomedov were arrested, but McGregor refused to press charges. All three were released.
Good points, so maybe Khabib gave up 1 round thus far in his UFC career. Totally agreed on power; when Conor did connect with that left, it didn't have much effect on Khabib.McGregor won round 3, that’s it, but not decisively. To me, Conor looked a bit flat-footed even before the first takedown in the 1st round. When he fought Alvarez (same weight division), he looked lighter on his feet and much quicker - he was like a hummingbird, just zipping in and out of range. I expected he would have a large quickness advantage over Khabib, but it didn't seem that way.
Ferguson is like a human meat grinder. Dude is scary!
OK, but Khabib made so much money last night BECAUSE of Conor's trash talking. If MMA turns toward the very respectful sport that Khabib wants (as discussed in the post-fight presser), then the fighters will all earn less.Hard to talk and tap at the same time Conner.......I generally like McGregor as a fighter but the Irishman had this ass kicking coming. We all understand he is a great self promoter but a true warrior like Khabib takes the extreme shit talking and vile personal nature of the lead up to the fight personally. Its gone too far now just like the nature of the politics in this country, civil discourse has been replaced by in your face shout downs, ranting and violence. Its really at the feet of Dana White for letting the press conference and weight ins get out of control and not really punishing McGregor for the bus bashing episode really shows with him its all about the money and not about the integrity of the sport and the roots of combat sports in general which teach respect for your opponent and the sport.
Even his preflight ring entrance was lackadaisical. Didn’t even strut and swing those arms like he use to. Conner can have a chance to beat him in a rematch, but has to be faster with that power left. He’ll never out wrestle him, only chance is to catch him while standing. Conner should’ve forgot about kicking also, so slow Khabib was catching them for single leg takedowns.Good points, so maybe Khabib gave up 1 round thus far in his UFC career.
