Alec Baldwin shoots and kills film crew member, injures another 'didnt know it was loaded'

I read the same, but I can't quite believe that they aren't covered by a corporate entity. JJ Abrams is Bad Robot...George Lucas was Lucasfilm, Spielberg was part of DreamWorks. So Baldwin is probably covered by an LLC or something that will just go broke and he'll walk clean.
Edit...looks like El Dorado Pictures is his company.
Nailed it. $0.00 personal liability.

Investigation complete - budget requested to fund potential prosecution of multiple persons.

On the anniversary of the tragedy on the Rust film set in Santa Fe County, District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies remains committed to pursuing justice for the victims, and getting answers for the community. As soon as the District Attorney receives the full report from the Santa Fe County Sheriff, she and her team of professional attorneys and investigators will thoroughly review all the evidence and make a thoughtful decision about whether to bring charges against those involved. No one is above the law and every victim deserves justice,” said Heather Brewer, spokesperson, Office of the First Judicial District Attorney, State of New Mexico

The First Judicial District Attorney of New Mexico requested money from the New Mexico Board of Finance for costs associated with the prosecution of one or more potential defendants in the Rust film set shooting.

District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies made the funding request to help fund positions for an attorney, investigator, and other trial related expenses. The DA states in the letter to the Board of Finance there could be four individuals facing charges.

The Board of Finance approved $317,750 of the $635,500 request.

REALLY!!!!! $635,500 requested for one trial. How the hell do you get anything done if it cost that much for one trial.
I smell a boat load of rats.

he paid her widower $$$$$$ AND made him producer to continue RUST filming so there is that. Back room deal, sentenced to oh I don't know paying the widower and maybe making him producer of RUST. Guess she didn't mean that much to him.

Makes you wonder if they're serious about prosecution or maybe just need some payroll bonuses outside the normal budget.

“After a thorough review of the evidence and the laws of the state of New Mexico, I have determined that there is sufficient evidence to file criminal charges against Alec Baldwin and other members of the ‘Rust’ film crew,” Carmack-Altwies said. “On my watch, no one is above the law, and everyone deserves justice.”

In a statement, the Hutchins family thanked the Santa Fe sheriff and the district attorney.

“It is a comfort to the family that, in New Mexico, no one is above the law,” said attorney Brian J. Panish, who represents the Hutchins family. “We support the charges, will fully cooperate with this prosecution, and fervently hope the justice system works to protect the public and hold accountable those who break the law.”

He will do jail time
Maybe 30 days in jail, but just weekends, and they'll let him pick which weekends he wants to show up...

I honestly don't think he'll do jail time.

I think they'll give him 6 months probation...

It’s likely not going to be 18 months for sure BUT he could get out of jail time if he pleas down but if it goes to trial he will get some time in the clink….might be a nice fancy Hilton and he will get special accommodations and there is likely no way he will be Ben Dover’s cellmate

The assistant director who handed Baldwin the gun got a plea deal for a suspended sentence and six months of probation and Baldwin could probably get the same deal in a heartbeat. However, Baldwin is arrogant enough to demand a trial and the DA will push for substantially more from Baldwin if he makes her go to the trouble of a trial she does not want.

The MAXIMUM penalty for involuntary manslaughter under NM law is 18 months in jails and a $5,000 fine.
From what I’ve been reading, if he is charged with the more serious involuntary manslaughter charge that includes a firearm enhancement, it has a mandatory 5 year sentence if convicted.

The article I initially read did not discuss a firearms charge. Yes, the sentencing enhancement for the firearms charge would result in a mandatory 5 year sentence.

Or even just take back all those stupid interviews he did. They will be used against him.

Oh, I LAUGHED LOUD AND LONG when I saw him in one of the police interviews!

Jesus, did he not talk to his attorney at all? He practically handed the police his head on a platter!

He doesn't need no lawyer.
He doesn't need to check the chamber.
He doesn't need to follow gun safety.
He doesn't need to apologize.
He is the great Alec Baldwin -- world famous actor and genius.
