The First Judicial District Attorney of New Mexico requested money from the New Mexico Board of Finance for costs associated with the prosecution of one or more potential defendants in the Rust film set shooting.
District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies made the funding request to help fund positions for an attorney, investigator, and other trial related expenses. The DA states in the letter to the Board of Finance there could be four individuals facing charges.
The Board of Finance approved $317,750 of the $635,500 request.
